Black Pink is unarguably the biggest kpop girl group of their time.... First in history!

  • This is the first time ever in kpop history that a single kpop girl group can be pick as the number one without any debate or fan war.

They've literally conquered in everything aspect, digitally, physically, sns... No one comes close. They're setting new record for girl groups every freaking day.

During snsd time, they had 2ne1 as a close competitor. And only took over when 2ne1 went for a long break and never came back.

But with Blackpink they had Twice but have solidly implanted their name as number one even though their "formal" competitors are still very active.

Now blackpink are at a point of competing with the biggest kpop group, and that's bts. And I feel blackpink might actually overtake one day with the rate at which they're growing.

Blackpink has paved the way for the new generation of girl groups. They're all following their footsteps currently...

  • Let me add on to this. It's very impressive how they achieved so much especially as a girl group.

Usually when you're a KPOP group, you have to constantly feed your fans. Go on Vlive every other week, post content every day, post on SNS everyday etc. That way you develop a sort of "relationship"(?) with your fans so they feel inclined to support you. It's really how it's always been in KPOP.

But with BLACKPINK, they barely have any content, music or anything. They are stuck in the dungeon 24\7. Yet, if they released some photo book or music tomorrow, fans will complain but still buy/stream it anyway and would probably break some record.

When I saw the crowd at Paris Fashion Week when Jisoo came out, I was SHOCKED. Only boy groups or absolutely massive acts can pull rowdy and massive crowds like that. The fact that she is one of the least popular members of BP internationally but is able to pull a crowd like that speaks volumes to how big they and their fanbase are internationally.

And in the past year or so, especially with the release of THE ALBUM, they've solidified their status as the biggest GG in the world. No other girl group is coming close to them in Korea, and especially internationally.

Just the SIMPLE fact that their solos sell more than some entire groups says alot. It's very rare to find a group that are so strong as a group as well as every member being very strong individually.

You can see so many of these 4th\3rd gen groups trying to replicate and follow the BLACKPINK-print. Just look at how they blew up with D4, EVERY other girl group INSTANTLY started switching to girl crush\dark concepts. You can still see some groups debut and switch to that today. If that's not impact IDK what is.

This type of success is really unprecedented for a KPOP girl group. Imagine if YG bothered to give them more music and content. It wouldn't even be debatable.

  • It really is one of the biggest mysteries of the world. Like how can they be that much more popular than everyone else? With such little content. It makes 0 sense.

Why not? Theyre popular in west and artists there dont have regular comebacks and are still relevant. Like, where is rihanna’s music? Adele is teasing the heck out of her album. Yet theyre still relevant. Im not saying BP is as big as them, but they have already established themselves to be a GG that can stand on presence alone :pepelove2: :pepelove2:

  • While everyone was fighting over the title of NGG, BP went and created another title for themselves. Now, everyone refers to them as the worldwide girl group or the global girl group. It’s interesting. They are far from done, but their trajectory and career will be studied as extensively as SNSD’s.
