Ah come on, that’s unfair. Just because a group doesn’t have an it girl doesn’t mean they’re not successful. Twice as a group IS thriving and they have a national title. It’s just matter of having that one standout member that everyone talks about and JYP has done a good job of not letting that happen.

Yes. One of the main reason I don’t get JYP never pushed anyone girl since Suzy. Suzy is an anomaly really. Maybe because Miss A had half their members as Chinese that the public didn’t take to them as much.

You can try to find a quote from me that try to minimize Twice. I also never said the group/band is not popular, i said that there hasn’t been an influential individual member from JYP since Suzy.

I understand your point, but the fact is all members got a huge individual influence.

Twice are really huge. Everyone knows them and they are everywhere. I think this is difficult to achieve because their popularity is much less visible abroad and more difficult to perceive. But I invite you to inquire, I think you will be surprised at their popularity.

And I want to clarify that I say this as a non-fan of the group.

Like I said, there is no doubt Twice is popular. Inside the fandom each twice member shines but if a person is a casual listener of kpop, there’s not one member who is identifiably well known in general unless that person gets the most lines or the most stunning visual. And if that’s the case, JYP achieved their goal of not making a member bigger than the group.
