Sohee of wonder girls was the original 1st it girl, Jyp entertainment rejected 3 of her solo cfs and took her dream high offer and gave it to Suzy and put her with wonder girls to promote on the US. Suzy is just an extremely lucky kid, someone in the higher ups definitely liked Suzy hence why she had so much promotions from the moment she debuted, mc jobs 1 month after debut , acting 7 months after debut . No rookie idol has been pushed like Suzy by their company the way she was. It was popular with the Korean public that JYP was pushing and mediaplay oh her. Jyp could easily do the same for any girl in twice but they decided they don’t want their artist to have individual success that will give them more freedom. It’s just a pity that these girls were just wasted

    swearing at psy is that true? Suzy treat everyone well not only jyp media ply her but her co worker also praised her attitude maybe that’s an accusation illegal dringking it’s fine but swearing at psy i don’t think so

    People still need to give a clear cut, objective definition what an 'it girl' is and what makes one idol an 'it girl' and not another, else it'll always be people's own biases they proclaim to be 'it girl', just like dozens upon dozens are all declared 'national hit', whether they really are or not.


    But if we assume that 'it girl' means foremostly 'most popular, most trending idol', then I'd say it's mostly because of JYPE's different way of promoting their groups.


    Before they gave individual group members like Suzy a lot of individual opportunities with the negative side effects that the explosive rise of Suzy's popularity started to negatively affect the popularity of the other group members and of the group - something that JYP himself literally acknowledged and said to regret in later interviews.


    But since 3rd gen era JYPE don't do it like that anymore, minimal individual promotions compared with before and full focus on groups.

    Of course this will have its effect on the individual popularity of the most popular members of each group.
