Why south korea doesn't listen to boy group songs?

Boy groups have always appealed less to the general public and more towards teenage girls. Girl groups tend to have more national hits and are can be popular with guys as well. The general public enjoys them more. There’s some exceptions out there for boy groups, like g.o.d(1st gen) and Bigbang(2nd gen)

I won't say it is wrong to do so because it changes from person to person but it is odd that they decide to atleast give a chance to girl groups but don't do the same for boy groups.

Lack of taste maybe.

They prolly usually think of any boy groups as "just another boy group with dark and wild concept with heavy rapping"

Bgs need to make more chill music to appeal i guess? And more promo. But for that, pds of varities need to invite them.

Like highlight used to make ballads and songs which appeal to gp back in 2nd gen

BC their song their make UP outfits concert and choreo are cringe no one will find it appealing except some teenager girl also mâle Idol are not considered as artist no matter how much they try to they are dolls who sell themselves to teenager girl for the Money and fame

I think a big part of the Korean GP is like most GPs in the world, unfortunately, thinks dancing Kpop boys are silly. BTS is different because their achievements worldwide reached a level that it's their nation's pride so they keep up with them.

I don't think all of their music is always in a style that appeals to the general mass. Especially boy groups mainly rap. probably because the older and middle-aged audience doesn't listen to hip-hop music. EXO and BTS are the exception because their style is more vocal and fits the general audience.
