I tried smoking for the first time when I was a teen and I said nope.
I'm not that fond of alcohol but I drink occasionally. Mostly during celebrations.
-
When i went to korean highschool a lot of kids smoked. But i think most of them aren't smokers anymore. So i get what you mean

Sure! europe must feel like a whole new world i suppose hahaha

I won't say I'm drinking, because it sounds like a problem.
Rather than that I sometimes drink 1 beer per week
or bit of whiskey or vodka once per week or two
there ain't nothing bad of taking a sip, but yeah it should be a sip, not a whole bottle of high % alcohol!
ah and just remembered my parents gave me bottle of Moldovan wine for birthday, damn it was so good that I've drank a glass day by day lol

I think it is stress + if your friends smoke, the idea of going out for a drink and sharing a cigarette while talking about how hard life is while looking at smoke as you are exhaling it sounds somewhat liberating
what stopped me from becoming a smoker is the smell that remains on your fingers where you were holding a cigarette
it just won't come off
-
none of the above :)

Yeah also you can eat gum, wash your hands and try to smoke less and still your hair and clothes will smell of it somehow.
Every time i take a drag from a cigaret i have to wash my hair after, i hate taking the smell home.

interesting bit -- I guess you could say its a silver lining
but nicotine actually gives better alertness, cognition and memory -- if a student doesn't mind the side effects it could actually give them an edge over other students. but when they get off their brain will dip below average until they can rebound after quitting.

that indeed is interesting
thank you for sharing
sounds tempting -

on the other hand -- lung cancer and cardiovascular disease loom over that. plus it wrecks your voice after a bit.
--I'd stick to high caffiene intake and caffiene reset days.

am underage fr that so I dont drink or smoke
it's not a problem here. a few days ago there was an incident; 16 minors were transported to the ER due to alcohol poisoning, nine were unconscious. they were in a club, celebrating their graduation. it turned out that their parents paid for it, and when i say it i mean ALCOHOL; they knew what they were doing, what they were paying for. being a minor isn't an obstacle here
-
hmm I drink sometimes but I would never smoke. It's so gross imo

ekser and i are from the same country and here smoking isn't looked down upon; it's socially acceptable. there are lots of highschoolers who smoke but i think, or at least that's my impression, that nowadays there are less smokers than 10 years ago, i assume it's due to its price. but then again, maybe my impression is wrong

everything about smoking smells horrible.
-
I drink casually if I like the taste.
I never smoked - I hate people's smoking around me.
-
oh, okay :D i guess that benefits of being eastern european is having loving, understanding parents who are willing to pay for alcohol for their 15yo kids
-
yes to both
<-- me when i'll be 50 ig
-
I wouldn't really say I drink, because it sounds like a problem.
But I do drink alcohol sometimes. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Sometimes I won't drink for almost a couple of months and sometimes I'll drink a beer or something almost every weekend.
I also don't smoke, but I have a cigarette, two or three sometimes when hanging out with friends. That lately happens once a year, but before maybe a couple of times a year.
