SM is by far the company who profit the most of chinese and they know it considering that they gave to lay and victoria agency in china to do their activities
aespa do a lot of interview for china
and Yoona played in a chinese drama
without mentionning all the chinese members that they have
and gurl please it's been a long time since Kpop surpassed Cpop
cpop is only doing well in china but it's inexesistant outside
meanwhile Kpop succeed to export themself all around the world
-
source? is it "dude trust me"?

I think chinese idols gained more money than kpop idols in china
-
honestly i stop trying to understand this user
because 90% of the time i don't understand their logic x)))
-
Isn't it S.Korea- film industry?
i meant k industries go to china for film industry
and japan for music
-
-
If I understand this correctly, the "There are many talented individuals there" part means that they want Kpop producers to work with Cpop artists. So it's more like Kpop and Cpop working together?
-
Isn't kpop already rivaling cpop? Isn't that why they banned it??
Yes china's goverment didn't allowed kpop concerts or apparence of korean idols since 2016 in china tv.
But i notice the chinese can listen kpop and watching the kpop idols
The kpop music is accepted in china

China=only chinese idol
Japan=only cute idols
if you are getting what i meant.
korean artist go china for films and stuff. profit in film industry there.
where as they go japan for music. profit in music industry there. Never seen k-idols releasing chinese music
-
I also don't understand why some people are so quick to dump Chinese support. Regardless of how you feel about them, they spend millions on kpop and not just in albums and merch. Who do you think is paying for 90% of the large scale birthday and anniversary ads? Most of them do promotion work better than companies ever could.

Both international fans and knetizens comments re disagree with you ...
I'm just asking -_-

Obviously it’s in China. So c idols are gonna earn more than kpop idols. But the industry as a whole is not worth more than the Korean music industry according to ifpi. I’m guessing because of cheap digitals and cheap song sales

I actually don't think they know exactly how much the Chinese music industry is worth as it's hard to get real data there. The only thing we know is that the movie market is already the largest in the world. They overtook the US in terms of revenue at the box office.
I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually do the same for the music industry as well. If they open up and allow for kpop groups to have concerts and promote there, it's just a matter of time that they will be the biggest kpop market in the world. Plus big Chinese companies are already big shareholders many of the kpop companies, like YG, SM, Hybe, JYP etc.. Tencent alone is like the 2nd largest owner of HYBE, 3rd largest owner of YG and also owns a big piece of JYP among others.

I pretty sure won young ever lived in Taiwan. Her grand parents (father's side) are from mainland China, and moved early on to Korea (before the korean war). Her father was actually born in Korea, but is ethnically Chinese. Neither her father nor grand parents ever lived in Taiwan.

What about wonyoung? Does she speak mandarin?

Wonyoung's dad is a hwagyo (Chinese-Korean) whose parents came from Shandong and took Republic of China (Taiwan) citizenship but had never lived in Taiwan. The ROC citizenship was common for hwagyo.
There is a reason Wonyoung never talks about this, hwagyo are discriminated against even though they gave Korean its iconic noodle dish:
