both units have always been neck to neck in Korea, there's no need to say one will pave the way for the other since fans know each unit elevates the other

while dream sold more in hanteo, 127 has the best selling digital songs) and the more known members (tho dream's less popular members have more fans than 127's less popular members) so there's no big difference
