I don't get it, the albums should have been already produced right? So they either released a wrong information in the beginning or they're going to throw the albums with individual covers away? This doesn't make sense, did they even announce that the album was going to have individual cover versions in the first place or was it an assumption?

No. The sites showed individual covers. After more than 15 hours passing by, they suddenly changed it without any notice, it wasn't even known by anyone. Glad someone noticed it. Lot of people were hoping for member individual covers and now they won't get that.
Tbh I find this extremely weird. If they did indeed produce albums with individual covers, what are they going to do with them now?
They probably havent started production. Thats usually what the first week of preorders are for.
They most likely had designs for 6 solo covers and 1 group cover but because of "production issues" they scrapped the 6 versions and only doing 1 now

SM only produces albums according to their first week orders. Thats why they usually have problems with shipping out late like kai's where they didn't make enough and was still producing after the album got released
but you would think given their history with exo and knowing their sales they would start producing lots

The fact that apparently none of the 6 members solo bars have open group order since the start. I hope it’s just bc China new regulations laws about donations that force them to keep it low.
Having 6 different covers would have assured more sales since most stans would have buy the 6 covers in order to be sure to have their fave cover.
And it’s just day 2... It’s gonna be a interesting era. But at least will finally have new MUSIC.

It's clear SM don't want EXO to succeed, they just want a stable cash cow to milk their financial sheets from time to time, but it's interesting for the company to see them on headlines or charts
I doubt they would ever let this happen with their favorite groups (cof cof NCT). The album is a month away from production, there is absolutely no way for cancell it in the first day after preorder. If it was a true manufacturer issue it could just affect some of the 6 versions, release what they could in the weak and release the missing versions weeks after it
Instead, they just cancelled everything 1 month in advance lmao
Well I'm growing too old and too cynical to be concerned with SM and their shit. I just want to enjoy the album, it was forever since their last release
