Even if BTS never win grammy, they are still in legendary company.
As I was copying this list, I noticed that is is mostly non-american acts or POC. BTS has at least 2 hurdles to overcome to get to that grammy.
I think people will remember who BTS is with or without a grammy. They’ve already broken so much records, got amazing sales, and are super influential. Like or not, they had an impact and they’ll keep getting bigger.
People will acknowledge them as very influential musicians in the future. They don’t need a grammy to be considered “one of the greats”.
Grammys don't mean as much as they did back then especially with all the snubbing(Blinding Lights and After Hours not being nominated at all is one of the worst snubs I've ever seen) and behind the scenes stuff going on. I think ARMYs only really want BTS to receive one because BTS themselves want one.
They don't really need a GRAMMY to prove themselves as they've already broken several records and will most likely forever be remembered as the leaders of a significant global phenomenon, aka the Hallyu Wave. Probably even more than that actually. No amount of whining or complaining will change that.
And I don't think any ARMY claimed they were on the level of Michael Jackson or The Beatles unless I'm wrong...
Don't forget to vote for Serbia in the Eurovision semi-finals! 
i have another take. with or without a grammy, i still dont think they'll be talked about as one of the greats in the western world.
most of their music is in korean, they are considered kpop. yes, they're starting to release songs in english, but will their english songs stand the test of time? we'll see. but i dont think they will be up there with the greatest songs of all time.

Nas won one this year but his first nomination was 25 years ago

Even people like Bjork, Avril Lavigne, B.I.G, Patsy Cline have never won a Grammy. OP thought he did something.
If BTS won ten Grammys and were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame, I’m sure OP would still find some new lofty achievement necessary for them to be considered influential. 😁
