Any success of BTS in 2026 is meaningless since it won't surpass Taylor Swift's records

  • All Korean males at least feel a bit of guilt on BTS, since thanks to them, BTS' best years were robbed.

Meanwhile Taylor Swift had the Eras Tour for $2 billion, the largest tour in the history of humankind, and became the Time Person of the Year in 2023 , an honor which has made the Greatest Singer of All Time.

I wrote at least 500 tirades against Korea and Koreans about this.

RM showed up with Bang in today's APEC meeting.

(the first segment - the rest are various South Korean dignitaries)

So RM is in cahoots with whatever Bang is planning.

The other members, especially Jungkook, are thrown under the bus.

Should Jungkook be doing stupid things like this,

    instead of doing concerts?

But Bang declared Jungkook Shalt Not Have His Individual Concerts.

Bang declared only Seokjin and Hoseok should have individual concerts, not Jungkook.

The earliest Jungkook can have his own concert is 2027 when he is 30,

And it is not coincidental that RM's tours are likely to be the smallest, because his music style is the least palatable to concertgoers.

Since BTS' concert won't surpass that of Taylor Swift's, it will be meaningless.

I have not even begun to talk about the gaggle of singers who will be aiming to defeat BTS in early 2026 but that will be anothre topic I will save for later.

  • BTS at best is a B-lister internationally tbh. Language barrier is real, Korean is still a strange language for most people. No one in Korean will have the culture impact at the scale of a top tier singer in the English world.

They won't surpass Taylor for sure.

  • HYBE doesn't want any member to be significantly more popular than the others. The strategy from the beginning has been for the group's activities to take precedence over individual ones. Keeping the members' popularity relatively balanced would make things easier for potential contract renewals, so don't expect many individual activities from Jungkook.

  • yall are blaming hybe but how can you be sure members themselves dont want all this. I mean they are at a point in their carrier where they can do anything they want, even leaving hybe & establishing their new agencies, they can ask hybe to give them separate teams to work on their solos

But they all are prioritizing the group for now, atleast for next 2 years.

Tho I have to say hybe have to change their strategy regarding promotions & every thing if they want that comeback to succeed, their numbers/engagements are not like before.

Half of the fandom left, other half have more solos & shippers so they are on every other members neck each day. I can bet tae's recent hate train was basically carried out by jm/jk solos and jikookers. OT7 Fandom is almost non existent in S.K

So for that comeback and tour to be a success they have to try new gen promotional strategies. They cant expect fandom to do everything like before when it is not united and dwindling every day😒

They should start putting ot7 content before that comeback just to put solos at peace who thinks their faves is being hated by other members and others are jealous of his success😒🙄So it is justify to spread false rumors regarding others😑💀😤

Because you have BTS members going live to say that they wish for chart success and their musical output has been geared towards that too.

  • Because you have BTS members going live to say that they wish for chart success and their musical output has been geared towards that too.

Stop taking information from bts sn**k on re*dit. Jhope said that only one time before release of mona lisa. Most of the members solo output from last 3 years is not at all gearing towards chart success & is complete opposite of it.

Listen to indigo, rpwp, jitb, d-day, layover, happy, echo, face (all of these are albums by the way, i bet you dont know them) and tell me how they are gearing towards chart success. They have mostly niche music in them apart from some songs.

Jungkook has most gp freindly album and jimin's who is gp freindly but those two especially jungkook, LOVE pop music since forever. Thats what he likes.

Jhopes 3 singles you can say were gearing towards chart success but he said he release them for fun and would release a coherent album with whole theme, when he would have time for it.

I hate how people only remember those 3 english songs and run with these narratives when they have realeased 10 solo albums in korean after them. Even the group music like run bts, yet to come, take two have nothing in it which indicates hungry for chart success.

Tbh other groups have released more english and pop songs than bts which screams charts hungry but you wont talk about it because they are not bts😒🙄

  • I even call Coldplay sell outs which world do you live in?

Also I am not taking this from the snark subreddit. I am taking it from twitter.

I like Indigo, RPWP and JITB. It's a taste thing. I think Face is better than Muse solely on the merit of Like Crazy. Happy is mediocre but I think that's to be expected from Jin, sad considering he had songs like Epiphany and Awake. Layover is okay but I like other stuff more in the same genres. D-day is weaker than D-2. I won't give my opinions on Golden.

Take Two is mediocre sorry. Run BTS is a throwback to a sound that should not be brought back in 2025. Yet to come is okay.

Yes I know my BTS lore.

When I said BTS's output is geared towards mainstream I am talking about j-hope's newest singles the aesthetic of which are a complete 180 from JITB and which do not suit him because it makes him look tryhard.

I think BTS are talented. They are just not all equally consistent in solo and group output. The Most Beautiful Moment in Life is their best work imo because the concept and sound caters more to subculture and trends of the time. I just think they are boring now with limited sparks of brilliance like with RM's RPWP. The only problem is I can't count on him to keep it up.

I just think BTS are inconsistent and singles/EPs artists. That's it. It's not more complex than that. There's no grander agenda on my part that I have taken from a snark subreddit or whatever. Just plain old difference in music taste and opinion.

  • You said bts musical output is gearing towards chart success and you based this opinion about a group (who has not put out group music in 3 years) solely upon release of 3 singles from a single member😒😒.

  • You said bts musical output is gearing towards chart success and you based this opinion about a group (who has not put out group music in 3 years) solely upon release of 3 singles from a single member😒😒.

I think their musical output has been geared towards charting success since 2017. This is not a negative statement. You will notice I made a comment about how The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series was inspired by subcultures and the trends of that era. There was a distinct anime-ish/tumblr appeal to it where you can tell the music was focused on creating a cohesive vibe rather than having something for everyone like their later albums MOTS and LY. From 2017 their music shifted towards a more accessible sound. That's what I mean.

  • Half of the fandom left, other half have more solos & shippers so they are on every other members neck each day. I can bet tae's recent hate train was basically carried out by jm/jk solos and jikookers. OT7 Fandom is almost non existent in S.K

Why do you think half of fandom left? I don't think we can see it yet for we didn't have ot7 comeback since forever. Maybe users left from here but it is understandable because it was incredible toxic a few months ago. Other than that Bp had a bad case of solo stans but their fandom still held out. Curious about your opinion.

  • Because you have BTS members going live to say that they wish for chart success and their musical output has been geared towards that too.

Some of their output maybe, but they stress about chart peformance not because that's the most important but because they became so popular that charting became almost a must. It's oversimplification to say that every release was for the charts. Some of their americanised songs were an acceptance of what audience wants from them and they spoke about how conflicted they were regarding to follow or not to follow trends, sing or not sing in english. Their personal output does show the dilemma of pushing and pulling between what they need or want, what the group needs or wants, what the label need or want and what their audience wishes or expect from them. And sometimes they like to experiment about their possibilities, be those too artistic or too trendy. I think we can't even phatom how hard struggle it is to try out new influences but not change too much, trying to be yourself but still being open to your audiences expectations, being new but not too new, being old but not too old. Their lives definetly show their constant struggles but bravery in making choices and accepting the fact that they will be overly critisiced no matter what. When their group output gets too generalised they always get back to their own adtistical choices in their personal output. It's definetly not a boring discography, even if they have their ups and downs regarding song choices.

  • BTS at best is a B-lister internationally tbh. Language barrier is real, Korean is still a strange language for most people. No one in Korean will have the culture impact at the scale of a top tier singer in the English world.

Their greatest hits, like Dynamite, Permission to Dance or Butter, are all in English.

So there were no language barrier.

However, other than some diehard armies, no foreiggot the short end of the stick.n fans could understand that BTS had to waste 3 years in Korea to do the military services to placate the Korean men, who supported IU and New Jeans instead, and Korea being less than 5% of BTS' total revenue.

RM sold out other members and he will rise high. JK got the short end of the stick.

  • All because Seokjin ended the dreams of ot6

  • What's with this ot6 lore? I am totally not getting it. :meme-why-cat:

"The people who shouted for ot7 which led Jungkook to prematurely enlist have hurt bts decisively.

I wrote a piece that Seokjin and Yoongi should have left the group for some time, make the other 5 tour the world, silence Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar and others, and only rejoin after their services ended. That piece disappeared but it seems I have had a point.

Now Roseanne Park, MBE, is ready to whip BTS along with the rest of BlackPink, before BTS has a chance to advance to the world, while the rebellion started by Min Heejin, which would NEVER have taken place of BTS were strong, is ricocheting everywhere , threatening the entire Hybe edifice and making SVT, who was never that happy to be put under the Hybe camp since it could survive on its own, very upset."

In the current lore it was just Jin's fault though, so I'm not sure what changed

  • Ah, it's my fault. I'm sure I should have read this somewhere but my brain just checks out in the middle of these kind of monolouge's. Like. No word is sticking after a few sentences. It's just. A fanfiction. Uploaded on the wrong site. :meme-what-is:

Thank you for helping me to catch up! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

  • The correct thing was for Seokjin to leave the group when he joined the military, leaving the OT6 to do their own tour in 2023. Yoongi could have dragged it to 2024 and if they had beaten Taylor Swift, as it could have been, opinion would have changed

Now they cannot defeat Taylor Swift no matter what and Jungkook, having missed the best eyars for nothing, will not even reach the level of Zayn , let alone Harry Styles.

  • Its been 5 years since their last full album so I'm sure they'll do well regardless. And their last tour was in 2019 so a lot of fans are waiting to see them in concert.

A lot of fans moved on to other acts

And it doesn't really matter since they won't beat Taylor Swift's record

  • Why do you think half of fandom left? I don't think we can see it yet for we didn't have ot7 comeback since forever. Maybe users left from here but it is understandable because it was incredible toxic a few months ago. Other than that Bp had a bad case of solo stans but their fandom still held out. Just a guess based on social media engagement, their youtube numbers and little bit of real people.

Like armys dont bother to open youtube anymore. Their views on recent videos, like HOTS trailer, some recently uploaded performances cant even crack 400k. In past these would atleast have 2M.

For twitter, engagement is less than half before military, before any simple tweets on bts official used to reach 2-300k likes, now its mostly just 50k or less.

For instagram, I am not that sure as i dont use it much but before enlistment tae's tweets used to reach 12-14M Likes on average now its 6-8 M.

    Same for other members too.

For real life, in 2022, I was doing my masters and I used to find many girls with their merch, lot of causal fans. There were 20 girls in my department who used to be hardcore armys.

I visit university as lecturer now a days and I cant find any. Young people dont know them mostly. I even asked my class once😂😂

Point is a lot of causal fans dont follow them anymore, makes sense since they are not active as group for last 3 years. And their numbers still beats other kpop groups by miles but they dont have gp interest anymore. So hybe have to promote that comeback hard if they want to have it any real impact.

Otherwise we will have payola allegations like jimin's who, song will be carried only by fans, numbers will be huge but since it wont have gp impact whole kpop twitter will run with payola and bots allegations🤐😬😬. Problem with who is that it was not promoted by jimin, so it is being hard carried by fans. Gp doesnt know it so it ends in him getting lashings every other day for using bots but its just that his fandom is big enough to play with charts like this. 🙄

  • one thing to add, I think its better some of fans left. Like my country is extremly Islamic and homophobia comes along with religion in my cases.

So many fans in my country probably left after that dumb frank ocean controversy. I personally had a big fight with my sister and a friend who used to be big fans and they started blabbering about how namjoon has committed blasphemy😬🙄 and he should be punished for it. Both became antis after it. My cousin's (10 yrs old) mother ban her from watching bts after that controversy. It was a huge mess in pakistani army gcs. Many left the fandom.

So in a way, its good that some crazy fans like that left already. Imagine being a bts fan and a homophobe😑🙄. And the drama those people would have caused if some day in future a member come out.

I don't understand people who think @@@c3023c29-015b-46da-b294-3b031b0d9115@@@. I am sorry I know it's common but religious conditioning can be hell of a drug. The Frank Ocean controversy was really very stupid tbh but it also showed me that BTS somehow had attracted a lot of conservative fans across the world, which is interesting to think about why. Their image was that of a progressive group not conservative.

I guess they're mostly basing it on the engagement on social media.

Most of the armys i know irl are just quietly waiting for them to comeback.

Tbh, we won't know until they official start dropping teaser.

Jungkook just posted this month on tiktok. It got 12m likes and 77m views which is like average engagement he has social media before he went to military.

Also, I see a lot armys in my country collecting those tinytan figure from McDonald for now... they're just waiting for the group to comeback tbh.

  • I don't understand people who think like this. I am sorry I know it's common but religious conditioning can be hell of a drug. Tbh I was like that too up until my highschool due to my upbringing and kind of books I used to read, then I started reading foreign literature😑 and it opened my mind.

Its just people like these base all of their morals on religion, if religion is telling them that homosexuality is wrong then they will justify even death for gay people because in their eyes they are stopping the spread of immorality and evil🤐😬.

  • I see.

I feel like there are a lot of ot7 fans who enjoy the solos lesser, and because there was not a lot of ot7 content, many fans went into inactivity, like you said. I feel sad for the boys not having the same fandom for their solos but they are still insanely popular alone so I think it's alright, it is what it is. And their solo output tends to differ from the sound of their group, so it's natural that the fandon reacts differently.

I see students with Bts merch too. A lot of pins on backpacks in everyday commute. I saw some plushes too. I work close to a Bts café too, even though I live in Central-Eastern Europe. So I see signs of Bts fans being around.

I think Jk's social media activity is a good metre. He seems to be the most popular with the fandom.

Yeah, we will see what happens when the ot7 comeback happens. I do think Bts had a good career up to this point so wathever happens, it's alright. I wish them artistic freedom and peace in their personal lifes.

  • That led BTS to lose the top position in Korea to Iu in 2022

which was probably the decisive factor for turning the opinion against BTS' military exemption, since the Koreans could do with IU.

The casual fans have mostly moved on and won't be back. The diehard fans might remain but they won't catapult BTS to world domination again
