Bzzzt. Wrong.
For me, the most incredible thing about NJ was their cultural impact on K-pop. The entire 5th generation was influenced by their songs, aesthetics, and promotional strategy.
100%.
We already have girl groups with huge impact before but NewJeans is the first that can influence an entire generation, both girl groups and boy groups.
Actually Day6 has more streams on YT music than aespa so this list is flawed
Day6 is the biggest GG in Korea

Different lists. One is for 2025, this is September 2024 to September 2025.

Funny you should say that because the aespa NJs and IVE numbers in my post are EXACTLY THE SAME as what was posted in OP. So unless you are telling me that the Sept 2024 to Sept 2025 numbers so happen to be coincidentally EXACTLY THE SAME as the Jan 2025 to Sept 2025 numbers...
Like I said
Day6 is truly the biggest GG of Korea
All of a sudden, I cant do maths
That begs the question: "Is Day6 a kpop idol girl group?"

they're the 5th most streamed girl group on spotify of all time, and they're gonna surpass le serafim soon

But this is true tho? YouTube had been the biggest gaining platform in Korea for ages while we literally saw UL’s drop year over year on melon
If you combine free and paid YouTube it's not even close. These are survey results, where the question seems to be about music streaming and downloading specifically, rather than media consumption more generally.
If you have any doubts of the methodology or whatever, you can go ahead and read the government 2024 Music Industry White Paper in full. I didn't do that because it's in Korean:

ULs dropping for ages, YT Korea never felt like it's a big thing there. And it's not like Kpop numbers are huge on YT Music, it's just the same 10 or so Kpop groups/soloists, but on Melon you can find more with great numbers.

Interesting numbers if it's true, but I don't think we should combine FREE with PAID, because paid users actually use the platform regularly, free users, don't.
Most of those free users can be bots or average users who only watch the latests MVs and that's all.
Numbers for the long-run would be more accurate, because this was just 2024. Like, when people watch a TV Show live and the rating goes up to 20%, but after the 3rd episode it's just 10% or lower.
Imo, YT Music (I used the paid version for a couple of months) is absolute garbage, even compared to others like Deezer, or Spotify and Apple. Never used Melon, tho, so...
I think that is mainly result of Whiplash longevity. It got really good longevity this year.
