If anyone can steal the throne from aespa at this point, it's katseye

How does this even make sense when the two groups aren’t targeting the same markets? Aespa, just like the typical SM groups is big in Asia, especially Korea and China, while Katseye’s focus is more on the West, with huge support from the SEA. If anything, Katseye’s real competition in Kpop is Lsf who dominate Spotify and global charts (after Nj gone and Bp still in hiatus), which isn’t really Aespa’s lane. And Katseye hasn’t even charted in Korea, which is Aespa’s stronghold. So honestly, how are they even being compared?

BREAKING NEWS !!!!!
We are in 2025 no longer in 2020
Spotify and global charts aren't aespa lane ?
The last kpop gg song to pull +2M stream was whiplash in october 2024 and nobody was able to do it until Katseye drop gabriela not even lsrf with Hot
Aespa "armaggedon" is the most stream kpop group album in 2024 with 700M stream against 690M for lsrf "easy"
And let's not talk about how Aespa whiplash spent more day on apple music global with whiplash than any gg excluding Newjeans
I think you are clearly stuck in 2020 when aespa wasn't strong internationally but this argument is clearly dumb, wrong and no longer true in 2025

Not really

Only if it's the throne to your kingdom. Cause' girlies aren't even in the same market truly

Never understood why Hot 100 (a US chart) matters more than BB200 global (or global exc US) for western validation ...
Is the US validation that important?
-
Katseye isn't kpop

No idea why people use west when they think USA.
Companies do want to have success in the west/USA. Bts and it's members charted on hot 100, bp and its members too, newjeans, le sserafim, stray kids charted too. Illit with magnetic. Is there anyone else? Come on Yama-Chan chart king, help me . So it's not impossible but it's hard.
It's not unreasonable wanting to do well in all markets, sometimes you succeeded, sometimes you fail. American market is one of the toughest markets imo. In Europe we have Robbie Williams who was insanely popular during his peak but his popularity didn't translate to the us. Same with little mix.

It is giving same energy as claiming a group is doing well in Asia when only charting well on Korea chart. Same analogy (or replace korea with Japan - biggest music market)

Oh, yes! I forgot them!
Anyways, it's doable with sound american audience likes. It's interesting but expected that txt didn't chart, their Music doesn't appeal to american gp

The point is that companies want to do well in American market. Nobody calls groups that never charted on hot100 flops (excluding trolls). Bigest music market is USA, Japan is 2nd
