firstly what is a hit or not depends on one's definition of hit - metrics, data, criteria, weighting blah blah blah
secondly - to be a one hit wonder is usually reserved for when an artist is close to retiring or left the industry completely no? if an artist is still somewhat active (ie, within say the past year or so) and still releasing new songs - there is always the potential for the next song to be a hit no?
I think it’s soon to judge illit as they just came back but if their new song doesn’t rise then yes 
Their debut was so strong bigger than most 4th gen hits but they haven’t quite been able to reach that again not even a fraction 
Imo I don’t see this new song doing well as the general reception isn’t good but anything’s possible!
I dislike how kpop fans don't allow groups to grow. They debuted in the top 100 and had good album sales. Lets give this comeback time to grow. They also seemed to improve as performers because their performance looks much better this comeback
Sometimes I wonder if it was a bad thing to debut with a mega hit like Magnetic. I felt that set some unreal expectations for the group and it's not their fault that people are expecting them to replicate or surpass one of the biggest kpop songs of the decade.

They're not a one hit wonder when they're still new in their careers. People might not believe this now, but during their debut era, a lot of NJ stans were actually the one that supporting Illit the most. Like even here as both groups share similar target market. But once the feud happened, Illit lost a chunk of that support. Ofc they still have tons of loud company stans backing them, yet unfortunately for them, Katseye debuted not long after that and just a lot more interesting as a group. So again, Illit being push to another lower position when it comes to those company stans' priority list.
Illit’s sales are still solid, though. Their first-day numbers went up, so they clearly still have strong backing. A future hit isn’t off the table at all. But let’s be real, a lot of their fans are also fans of other Hybe groups. This si their biggest problem. With Bts cb around the corner and tons of new groups under hybe that will debuted soon, their chance getting slimmer. They don’t really have a solid fanbase that supports just them in that whole company like Lsf and Nj have. Runext was supposed to be that but it didn't end well.
Not to mention, I’ve said it before, but groups under Belift always kind of feel like filler in Hybe’s lineup. They're just there for some quick cash for hybe, not to push as the flagship groups of the company.

I'm all for ILLIT to gain back their momentum. Genuinely think Cherrish, tick tack & DTD deserves to be hits cause they're super catchy and fun
On the other hand, I'm really disgusted at the double standards towards Baemon. Where is such energy to defend them when people keep calling them "flops" while they charted much better than ILLIT aside from Magnetic.
Sheesh & Drip are both top 10 hits (on Circle). BM is similarly a new group with much careers ahead 🙄🙄🙄
Yes Illit is a one hit wonder, while Babymonster has no hits but the latter has better numbers overall.
I would compare Babymonster to StrayKids, in a way that both don’t have hits but they have huge fan base.
