I feel like JYP gave up on ITZY ??

    i thought JYP was actually putting a lot in this itzy comeback after seeing the pre-release promo and MV


    but since the promo have started a lot make me think the contrary and make me think that JYP completely gave up on Itzy



    from all the different thing that made me think about this here is a list :


    1. underwhelming performance compare to their previous one


    these past comeback they went from one of the top groups in term of performance with eye catching chography

    to one of the GG with the most basic and plain choregraphy


    you just have to look at Girls will be girls chorus choregraphy

    in the past with a chorus like this, JYP would have give them a chorus with 10 moves by second where they would be using their feet, their hand etc...

    their latest choregraphy have been heavily focus on the upper body compare to their most popular chography where they use a lot more their lower body and made their choregraphy looks more dynamic


    this lack of effort in their choregraphy is so stupid cuz since their debut, the only reason itzy song are able to catch some attention among the public was after their choregraphy went viral.


    And tbh i feel like choregraphy is the first sign of JYP when he doesn't want to make more effort in a gg

    i had the exact same feeling with TWICE & feel special, i said JYP doesn't want to make any effort with Twice anymore cuz he stripped TWICE from one of their main selling point : their easy choregraphy and key move in the choregraphy to reproduce


    and if you notice every pre-feel special choregraphy had this key move in the choregraphy that just doing it you could guess the twice song, but after-feel special you no longer see this in twice choregraphy and it the moment twice started to lose momentum


    well, i feel he's doing the same thing with itzy by not doing them dynamic choregraphy which use to be their brand

    2. no effort in styling


    Tbh i was horrify by the styling that the girl receive this era


    especially for all the performance of Kiss & tell none of the outfit they wore were matching with the vibe of the song


    honestly all the performance of Kiss & tell made them look like a gg from a nugu company who style their artist with the first & cheapest clothes they could find on the market even if the outfit are the total opposite of the vibe of the song

    Girls will be girls outfit aren't bad now


    but i'm still trying to understand why in a song that feel like a group of girl is singing a female anthem to go to war

    Ryujin is out here dancing in a blazer who doesn't fit the vibe of the song at all

    But the 3rd point was the final nail for me that basically confirm that JYP just gave up on them and don't give a F anymore


    3. Making the girls do the job that their team should do


    yesterday i watched their latest performance of "girls will be girls" and spend the whole song questionning JYP team skills cuz Yuna extension were so bad, the color was completely mismatched


    and today i finally got the answer to my question


    they made Yuna dye her own extension !!!! WTF


    doesn't JYP have a hair stylist team to take charge of this for the girls ???

    • and last but not least, who knows if not most important, there probably was a question: "what can we do more for/with them?"

    They are a multi-million dollar brand that does World Tours and has plenty of Comebacks.


    IF...... JYPE gave up on them, they wouldn't get many Comebacks let alone a Concert that would cost the company money.

    ITZY have more or less been a disappointment since year 2-3 with week songs even if they acctually have a bit better songs last 2 years or so. But since Not Shy and forward they went from a potential top group to a group with pretty boring songs. Still, Bet on Me and Imaginary Friend are two good songs. They just did not have the right songs to follow up their debut year with.

    Everyone should have seen it coming. They never took off like Twice, and there's a very real possibility they disband next year. Yuna going into acting is potentially a big hint. JYP isn't going to invest a lot into them at this juncture because it's practically guaranteed it will never pay off. They are what they are at this point, for however much longer that even lasts.


    It's just a shame they seemed to be allowing them to mature musically and then immediatelly reneged on it. They're too old for the nursery rhymes they're forced to sing. That's a big part of their problem and why they weren't really a success.

    that means absolutely nothing

    Super junior or EXO are for example groups that sell well and can tour easily, that gets comeback


    but clearly SM gave up on them


    gaving up on them doesn't mean that they are just tossing them on the side


    it just means that as a company they are going to continue to use them because they can bring them money

    but they are not going to put the money, the effort or the work to help them reach a bigger status or get more popular

    i mean they are letting the own girls dye their extension when it should be the work of a professionnal hairstylist

    just this prove that JYP doesn't even want to waste money on giving them a hairstylist, if it's not giving up on them idk what it is

    Yuna says she is proud of her work in that pic. As someone that consumes a decent amount of Yuna's youtube content, she's a bit quirky and likes to do things herself. I don't think it is anything nefarious.

    to my knowledge it's those things that generally have the highest revenue split for the idols no?


    like streaming is the lowest

    and then album sales since you have to pay all the writers and producers etc


    but generally the touring and fansigns should be generating the highest splits for the idols

    Fansigns are for album sales - which i believe mainly goes to company for production & distribution


    Touring and merch should be the highest splits for idol IIRC


    JYP living off its cash cows - Twice, SKZ, ITZY, Nmixx

    Actually the reason why JYP financial report is like this is because it's the only other big 4 that doesn't have any other activities besides idols


    Others companies have other business to manage that sometimes doesn't bring as much money than the one they invest


    For example SM also have a restaurant that was making SM lose much more money than what they invest in it


    Also the money they get is spread out for all these activities managing SM C&C, Bubble, weverse, the company they created for concert during the pandemic etc....


    While in the case of JYP they used to only have idols actors and they closed their actor department few years ago

    Which means that the money their idol bring isn't use to finance other project and is directly infuse in their artist after


    Not because they spend little on mv, promo etc....
