It’s called embezzlement. Almost every company in the world does it. Probably easier for kpop companies as their business deals with “artistic work”. We already know SM and HYBE does it. The money goes to the executives pockets rather than actual benefits to the groups or employees.

Karina's solo instantly took high positions with minimal promotion without anything, because Karina's success as an idol is organic, the only question is why IVE, which is mega popular, needs some kind of promotion in their own country. I actually found out about Karina's solo from the news that Karina's solo is in Melon's top 10

I second this.

In my opinion, it was a side project too. Just an official release for a song that they performed on tour + the collab. I see it the same way that aespa released heir concert solo songs on music platforms, only we got an MV for the Supernova Love, which is a nice bonus. And because of that, I don't mind it didn't get a full blown promotion, it's not really a comeback or anything like that.
