The song's super catchy, the vocals part are good, and the rap isn't as annoying as in their other songs. Most importantly, the chorus gets stuck in your head after just one listen. I don't get why it made them lose so many international fans. Yeah, it's a bit childish, but not in a bad way. I was honestly surprised by the negative reaction it got when it first dropped when it's a bop for me.
I still don't understand why people hate Sneakers by Itzy

I think for many American fans, the song sounds too much like Kidz Bop (I don't know how well-known Kidz Bop is outside of the US, so this might apply to other countries as well). Kidz Bop is great for kids, but easy to make fun of when you're old enough to listen to the actual music.
So with that kind of song, Americans already associate it with music solely for children, music that is censored and watered down for that age group. While Sneakers isn't necessarily that, it sounds like those types of songs and automatically has that vibe associated with it.

It wasn't a good song but I don't think that's the reason it was hated, bcs kpop fandoms have made many terrible songs hits in the past. I think people didn't like their transition from girl crush to this kind of music. Other than that , when jype released teasers, people were expecting a royal concept so the actual music threw them off. I remember the entire kpop twt was disappointed and throwing a fit that day.

When I first listened to Cheshire, I felt very depressed and pessimistic. That's why I didn't like it because I didn't like the feeling it gave. The feeling the song gives me is important. If I get good feelings from the song, I like it even if it's in kidz bop, like Sneaker. Sneaker is an happy fresh type summer song. I liked Cheshire later, but I didn't like it at first.
its the last title track i enjoyed from them
Same I remember streaming Snekars on YouTube all summer with joy and fun.

Not American but eastern European. It sounds like a kids song to me too. And while were there, same for permission to dance by bts (god, i hate that song). Both songs should have been sung by 12 yos.

I would still much rather listen to PTD honestly though. That song just sounds like a commercial for JCPenny or Macys.

To me and other fans, the teaser sold something very different. The song is ok, but i was expecting something else, that predisposed me to dislike the song.

I thought the issue was Ifans thought their comeback was heading one way from the teasers but the song was a 180 it wasn’t so much a bad song but more a song catfish or picture teasers catfish (which I think a lot of K-pop groups do btw the teasers look girl crush/ mysterious then the songs ends up being light/ bubblegum pop )
