K-netizens doubt BTS Jimin ‘Who’ achievements

looks like their own company has finally become BTS achilles heel. Don't get me wrong, BTS will likely continue to be majorly successful, but before many of HYBE's transgressions got overlooked because BTS' overwhelming positive public sentiment in Korea and massive fanbase overshadowed HYBE's shadiness, now with BTS hype slowing due to military and HYBE on a scandal speedrun, even the BTS image can't bail out HYBE, and indeed HYBE is beginning to sour the public's taste for BTS. Just look at how people are much less sympathetic of Suga's scandal, whereas I think if it had happened before HYBE scandal, the public would've been more willing to sit back while armies buried the controversy.

Now all HYBE acts--even the golden boys--must walk on egg shells because public cynicism towards that company is at an all time high

it is indeed suspicious but it has been like this for years...

I believe Jimin's songs are still on top of spotify chart korea despite all the new releases. When the songs are nowhere to be found on domestic music sites charts

My bad. I checked only the hot 100 before commenting. The reason why I made this statement was because I came across this post on r/popheads some days ago that was questioning why it's chart performance is not as impactful as it's cultural relevance ( even now, i think this to be true. The way it's everywhere, i thought it would be in top 5 of billboard charts or something). Anyway, good for her that it's been more successful since then. I heard that she does well in the UK of course. But as for the rest, my information is outdated.

I still stand by my point that cultural relevance is not necessarily the same as sales or chart performance.

BTS's numbers as a group are very real, I'm gonna put a stop to that "hybe payola" bullshit right now.

But I always find it odd that this only happens when it comes to Jimin. The rapline doesn't get big singles (yet). Jin's & Tae's solo stans aren't as number crazy as Jimin's, and JK's numbers I think are very real. This isn't me commenting on Jimin's talent or his music, but his fans are very good at gaming the system. I don't think that Who is by any means flopping, but there are valid reasons to believe that there are alternative streaming methods being used.

Another reason that their cb will be successful, all eyes are on lsf!

About album sales, it can be lower since they had already cb this year+ kpop album sales are decreasing!

But if they will release some kind of autotune cr*p like Easy(sorry I hate this song) they won’t get anything!

The day they will release I will give my opinion about if the song will flop or not! So far so my predictions are right

Klaxon- Worst song of Gidle and I said it will flop(it flopped hard on Spotify)

XO - I said it was the worst tt of Enhypen, and I said they will have max 5 days of Global Spotify, they had 1 day

Chk chk boom- I said it is their most gp fr song- hence it will be their biggest hit- it is still showing results

Hot Mess- Worst Aespa tt - flop

The song is impacting radio soon so we will see if reaches a general audience then. The optics for this song are really good, but I do agree Jimin's songs have unusual sustained special efforts. It's a great pop song and it deserves to reach more people regardless. A lot of people in this thread seem to be lashing out in all directions re: BTS and it's a bit over dramatic and unnecessary. They are still the biggest music act Korea has ever produced, the biggest group in the world, and your hollow gossip about them and attempts to discredit them while they're absent doesn't change a thing.
