Twice whitewashed vs. natural color

All the whitewashing is so annoying.

I like idols better with their natural skin tone but I also get why they whitewash them

some of this is intentional white washing, but also notice how a lot of the "whitewash" photos are from stages with professional lighting, whereas the "natural" photos are from sunlight/natural light

Right? Why would they do that?

I really hate how heavily and widespread whitewashing is in kpop, and then the only time darker skin is allowed is if it can be sexualized like with early Hyuna and Lee Hyori.
