They (members) and Sakura herself made it known kinda that she is in the group as their senior basically to be a mentor since she has been in the industry over 15 years. So I think it was a case of them choosing her other good qualities when picking the lineup. She has always been honest about not liking her own voice and thinking she does not have a strong vocal range.

Because she has no genuine work ethic or love for her fans who are the reason she is wealthy. A good example of an idol taking critic is Giselle from Aespa who had trouble dancing but recently can dance better and keep up with the other girls.
Sakura and the rest of Lesserafim as well as Hybe, have no genuine respect for their fandom. If Sakura cared she would have not accepted to be a part of lesserafim knowing she has no aspirations to get better as an idol and vocalist. She has not improved at all in her career and will continue not to.
It is entitlement mixed with delusion. She is privileged to be able to be an idol with absolutely no talent.
She has free will right now to take singing classes and get better. If she chooses not to then she better not get scared when she has to sing live on music shows and showcase her 'vocals'.

I love sakura she's my bias in lesserafim
But people seems to forget that during her years in Akb48 she didn't receive any vocal training, the japanese trainee have been very vocal about this
And how they were train to connect with the public and have a great time
Now being said
People seems to forget that you can actually see that Sakura have been working extra hard, she came in korea not being able to hold a note right and not being able to sing
She work extra hard in Izone and she did some very important improvements and she actually kept improving during her izone days everytime they came back with a new song
But i must admit that since her debut in lesserafim she seems to have regress a lot and lost all the good work she did in izone
And i think being in Hybe she feel too comfortable
I think during her izone days every member were working hard to improve and you had very good singer like yuri, chaeyeon, eunbi, yunjin, etc ...
And i think having such a big chunk of the group having good vocal and probably working hard motivated most of the other group member cuz even hitomi improved a lot
I think Hybe group and hybe as a company just don't have this mindset
They know how big is Hybe to they are sure to fin success instantantly
+ I think they don't feel the weight of carrying the legacy of their previous group
Because if hybe was know for their strong vocals, it would motivate them more to improve to carry this legacy
But when you see that all groups under hybe (beside nj, fromis and svt) are know to be weak vocalist and their fans and the company doesn't care about it
You would automatically think " why should i improve and work hard on my vocal, where i can be as successfull than people working hard to improve"
