Yes hybe girl groups can now debut with high streams but that’s the result of the changing times rather than illit having impact.

Even nugu New gen groups have more streams than say the biggest debuts of earlier years but this doesn’t make their debuts more “impactful” to kpop than the earlier ones

There’s nothing exciting, new or interesting from ILLIT.

Dalla Dalla was much more impactful it will always be talked about for ushering in a new gen regardless of how Itzy performs in the future.

They came and third generation groups remained dominant.

2022 was the year the 4th generation took over, and you can just look at year end charts and see the very obvious handing of the baton to the next generation.

From 2016 to 2021, it's almost entirely third gen groups, and then in 2022, it's nothing but 4th gen groups at the top.

What did Itzy usher in? I'd really like to know. I remember third gen girl group stan sentiments during that time, and it still felt like 3rd gen would last forever back then.

Itzy clears with ease they literally STARTED 4th gen..

I think it's pretty obvious they're fourth gen.

MMM, RV, Twice, BP, GFriend and most of their peers all debuted between 2014 and 2016. GIDLE didn't debut until 2018. Feels silly to include them in the same generation.

Those groups all peaked in Korea in the last decade. GIDLE is peaking in 2022-2024.

In 2019 it was impossible to do such numbers for a debutant on Spotify. But itzy did have stronger YouTube stats?

Kcharts wise dalla dalla is one of the most successful debut song. Illit has a long way to go to compare to that. But not impossible if magnetic holds up.

Now when it comes to members and performance itzy absolutely takes it. Itzy girls easily left a bigger impression than illit girls

Itzy started the new gen because people realized they would never be able to compete with the top 3rd gen groups. Nothing else. Very similar to why 5th gen started. 4th gen was extremely underwhelming success wise until the release of next level in 2021.
