NewJeans success has made me realize how big Blackpink really is

I'm still not sure how NJ dominated this year when Ive had more #1 hits (Kitsch, I AM and Baddie) and the best performing song (I AM).

Immag toot my own horn for a moment here...it's funny how New Jeans always gets compared to Blackpink, seeing as how I predicted they would be the Blackpink of Gen 4 literally from the month they debuted

We could never see a girl group who is as popular as bp or even surpass their popularity in the next 20-30 years

It's one thing to be the #1 gg in the world, another thing that all members are also hella famous by their own

Scarcity builds demand.

IVE had a stronger year than NJ.

The 4th generation operates totally different from the 3rd gen, in the 3rd generation the top 3 GG was crystal clear and the shift between the GG that was number 1 to BLACKPINK was clean and very obvious at some point... this is a generation of successful female groups where at least 5 or 6 groups are coexisting and surpassing each other without actually asset dominance ....plus what blackpink did with the mismanaging that they had is surreal ...GGs today are promoting non-stop and yet, they can't and won't reach BLACKPINK's level

Cap. NewJeans are on pace to reach heights we've never seen from a girl group, and that includes BlackPink.

They've already accomplished everything a group could ever accomplish in Korea, and that includes things even BlackPink has never done.

And in the West, they've already broken records held by BlackPink and are just barely behind them in the remaining metrics.

They've put more songs on the Hot 100 in a year, they're reaching Spotify benchmarks faster than BP, their last album spent just as many weeks on the Billboard 200 as BP's best performing album, and the list goes on.

The scary thing is that NJ hasn't even turned 2 yet. They did most of this in their first full year as a group. It's absolutely insane.

Nothing can take away the accomplishments and impact BlackPink has had on the industry, but NewJeans are clearly the next group up and the most likely group to surpass them. That's just how it goes.

One day a group from a future generation will take the baton from NewJeans, but it's their time right now, and they're just getting started.

Well NewJeans haven't released new music in 8 months and are still massively popular.

I would never ever want a reality where they didn't release music for two years, but they would still be popular if they didn't, with most people perplexed why a group set to achieve so much would go dormant.

Also...I've always found flexing about your favorite group NOT releasing music to be...odd.

I'm dying just with a 8 month reprieve, and that's with NJ being EXTREMELY active and visible, even if they're not releasing new music.
