    cast your votes!

you can vote for 3 options :white-heart::red-heart::blue-heart:

  • Its hard. It helps if the group has a point or two of difference.

In the old days it was just hard work. It is possible, Gfriend, mamamoo, gidle, exid are examples. All did tons and tons festivals, events for the first couple of years.

Now imo you have to also combine it with social media and do dance and/or vocal covers.

  • Dating scandal

See here is a nugu trying to get publicity.

  • all of the above

the thing is music is subjective - you can put out a GP friendly song and the GP will barely give you glance if you were already nugu

one has to get their name out there...and today's day and age it means doing something different and going viral...how it's to be done

how that's to be done - well a lot of minds greater than mine have tried and no one has found the key to success yet

  • i think as long as these groups have a really good song then they'll do well

and at this point i really don't think it's that hard to make a good song, so many groups put out such bad music like the bar isn't that high

and they definitely need to make some funny moments videos

ahhh but good is subjective my friend just as bad is subjective...

if a tree falls in a forest and no one's around does it still make a sound?

if a nugu group releases a great song but no one hears it - is it still a great song? lol

i'm mostly thinking about momoland boom boom and the fifty fifty song right now. i feel like so many kpop songs these days just don't have that catchy flow that these songs had.

these nugus just need something suuuper catchy, even if you hate it, it'll still be in your head

I think a lot of groups go in with the intention to make something catchy or memorable or "a good song" but in practice it's much harder - I mean if everybody knew the secret create a great song then they would've done it already

the problem is very rarely will what the producers think is a great song necessarily lines up with what the public thinks...

and even if you do find success one time how does one replicate it?

boom boom was a one hit wonder - 5050 are yet to cb and when they eventually do it'll be a completely different group so who knows whether they can continue their success...

  • yeah i get what you mean but usually when i listen to nugu groups music sometimes they are just putting out the strangest noise music.

but yeah what do i know like i personally think this song

is amazing but not many others like it. i've really been wondering what kpop fans want from groups music wise
