unpopular opinion on clc and (g)i-dle

  • i personally think clc should just disband and the members should do their own individual things (seunghee and yeeun have the highest chance of making it big on their own tbh esp seunghee with osts)

i know not many will agree with this but i personally also think some members can re-debut with idle: seungyeon/yujin and eunbin

let's say things get worse with soojin's current controversy and she's forced to leave idle, seungyeon or yujin can take her place as a dancer in idle.

i've also always thought they made a mistake with debuting eunbin in clc instead of idle or a future girl group? like i know they needed someone with good star potential in clc but they really scrapped her from a good career in a girl group whose dynamic never rly matched hers. eunbin can also be added to idle's visual line up.

i've never been opposed to the idea of adding members to an already established group (peep rv and brave girls for instance) so idk maybe this is a long shot but could be a silver lining for the clc members and even idle in case soojin's situation worsens cause they will need a main dancer

  • Because I said some similar things in the past then I admit that your option ain't wrong

the thing is if situation would demand a change (if Soojin would leave) then instead of adding just 1 member I would add at least 2 and make sure that one of them is Sorn - she is friends with Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua so it will be kind of "damage" control in terms of making things easier for Idle members after sudden line-up change.

  • Meh, very unlikely. I don't think shoehorning a new member into a 3-year old group makes sense.

CLC will likely disband when their contracts end ie. late this year or early 2022. They'll be 7-year veterans at this point; they will have no business starting over in a younger group.

I'm not strongly opposed to the idea as I like CLC. But I'm not sure anyone within CLC or (G)I-DLE would even want it.

  • Only Eunbin really makes any sense, she is young enough.

The other girls will fade away like most nugu idols eventually do.

I think part of Cube's problem is that they don't want a group with more foreign members. If Soojin leaves and then a Korean and Thai join, it will be a foreigner majority group. That could make them less popular in Korea.

they have statistics and they see who buy albums, if 85-90% if not more of all abums is bought in foreign countries then it shouldn't be a problem

Only Yujin would make sense as some kind of replacement for Soojin. She's main dancer material and her voice is rather on the cute side (unlike Seungyeon). Anyway, I think it's unlikely and it's not something that I wish for.
