Now we have them aiming for the West with a 0AM EST Friday release for a KOREAN COMEBACK

idk where kpop companies got the idea that you can force a group to become popular somewhere. No matter how much you market, success is only a matter organicness. Instead of trying to appeal to a market that clearly doesn't want you, appeal to the one that does. They could easily be making so much coin of japan rn, but noooooooo western success

Idk it kinda make sense to me. Jyp has a senior and a young gg doing well in japan so why force another gg there. Bp doesn’t have a big us fanbase but they still managed to be the biggest (the show) audience which clearly say there is demand for girlcrush ggs and itzy can compete there.

They want Nizi in Japan, Itzy in the west and Stray Kids everywhere. It is patently obvious for me.
Whereas Twice are just a means to an end at this point to help move those groups into their positions.
now reading some comments for me it makes sense for JYP not to focus on ITZY in Japan. Either way, ITZY has potential in the USA, they should do well if JYP does it right

I meant it in relation to their ww fanbases. US came first in paying for the show when US fandom is small compared to other fandoms but this shows that the US costumer is welling to pay for the group

Why send ITZY to the West though when they haven't even made proper footsteps in Korea? idk it's just screaming Wonder Girls 2.0.
ITZY also doesn't even have a proper US fanbase and are defo NOT big enough to "compete" with BP. It's too risky, Div2 needs to stick to Asia cause that's where they're thriving the most.
Its highly risky for sure. Rmb that Blackpink had charted in bubbling under in 2017 and bbhot 100 in 2018 (Which no gg has done so far yet in the current 3rd/4th gen) b4 they even stepped foot into the US. At least YG knew they had a chance to succeed before they made a move in the US.
ITZY however has not done anything in the US to show that they might succeed there. They are not even as big as Bp was in the US in 2017 since they failed to chart at any of the major charts there. It doesnt really make sense for them to focus on that market when they could pay attention elsewhere
