See, you understand this well. That's the biggest reason why Fromis isn't a big deal for Hybe because the girls can't give back much to their company. While both Lsf and Newjeans receive significant investment, they also generate returns. You can't compare those old time when kpop didn't sell as crazy as today and generate profits as much as now. Before, getting cfs and being ambassadors was a luxury, even for popular groups. But now, these girl groups probably make hundreds of thousands just from one of those deals. And for Ive, Nj and Lsf for example, all members have their own cfs and BA deals. Imagine how much money they make by that alone. Also, Lsf made $7.9 million USD from touring in four Asian countries.
To sum it up, we're talking about a company that wants a lot of money, not a charity that spends a bunch without getting much back. Will hybe and other companies let their groups 'wasting money' on multiple mv, promotion, etc... if those groups unable to generate great profit for them?

recently there was that special perfume collabo between Nagyung, Hayoung, Jiheon, and brand Maison 21G
they were always known as group which made surprisingly high views in totally unexpected videos
examples were Jiheon's learning session, Jisun's ASMR vlogs, and most recently Seoyeon's cover of ZICOs song which got 3.5M views on youtube
so what exactly HYBE investing here? in what? the only thing which comes to mind is food expenses and dorm rent, and that's it...

Well, by the time G-Friend was coming up for renewal, Source was already planning and investing in LSFM.
G-Friend was losing them money (unfortunately), and LSFM was pretty much a guaranteed profit because of Sakura and Chaewon. There was really no reason to keep them.
Pledis had Seventeen, so while Nuest left on their own, there was not much reason to convince them to stay. There will probably be sometime before they debut a new GG, so might as well keep the one they have. Especially if they don't net them any major losses. Honestly, I think it was a timing thing. Fromis sold decently, they weren't planning a new GG for some time, so why not?
They honestly could not treat them any worse, so even when they debut a new GG, they can't do much else to Fromis other than disband them.
Maybe pledis had room for another group but source didn’t since le sserafim was about to debut

nj and lsf have just started their journey. It takes many years to get up to svt and ideally bts level.
fromis is doing fine. imo they are making some money, and as long as they don't lose too much money, it is worthwhile continuing there is always a chance for a hit song globally like Cupid.
