- Fans are claiming that 500k of the 600k sales are direct orders from Japan but BTS' Map of the Soul:7 (2020) album only sold 500k in direct orders to Japan. Even Twice's Yes or Yes (2018) album only sold 200k in the past three years there.
Shouldn't really post these kinds of new posts, when its pretty obvious a certian group's sales are also dodgy.

It does seem like late 2021/2022 really was the time when all girl groups started seeing a fairly huge inflation on sales and pre-orders

the fun part is that you can choose whatever reason you want to justify it without mentioning fraudulence: magical chinese bars with unlimited members who never run out of money, digipacks out of fantasy which can multiply album sales by whatever number you like, 14 different versions of the same album with 200 photocards.
but red velvet going from selling a fraction of twice and blackpink sales to a million seller overnight and sm entertainment restocking millions of their past albums without an increase in their other stats in youtube and spotify is as bad as those rookie groups with small fandoms selling millions like lesserafim, ive, aespa, gidle, itzy, nmixx and newjeans and nobody talks about it. twice and blackpink are the only girl groups you can believe their sales.

I am not defending itzy, i also believe them selling 1 million of albums at the same time as twice was fake and one of the worst pr stunts jyp ever pulled.
red velvet sales makes no sense, the restock of their older albums are also nonsensical if those are because new fans are buying their old stuff why their streaming stats on youtube and spotify dont increase too? you can literally see every time twice had a jump in sales their other numbers also increased. I'm not being shady i'm speaking my mind out with participating in this farce of justifying sales that are ridiculous.
