SKT1 > BTS?

Honestly, not my place to choose. Not my country. Not my rules.
The whole system has seemed entirely arbitrary forever anyway. If that’s what the governing powers think is worth it, then meh, whatever… BTS members are thriving, have always said they are happy and ready to do their compulsory service, and now are. They’ll be back soon and killing it.

I guess Entertainment doesn’t fall under Performing arts nor sports.
And maybe that makes sense idk. Winning awards in esports or real sports or say being good at something like classical music it’s skilled people getting exemption. Whether you consider being skilled in esports to be real or not is a separate discussion lol.
When you’re an entertainer you don’t really have to be skilled to be popular I guess. Not saying all kpop groups are unskilled but more like it’s not a requirement for popularity. And I’d assume it’d be very difficult to draw the line.

i find it stupid honestly

They were always meant to go so it’s fine

It's the freaking Asian games, not just some random league tournament. And they are the Korean national team not skt, geng, or any other team.

a fucking joke honestly

Wait league of legends boys get military exemption lmaoo
Why did I think e-sports was like another proper sports
It's just people playing video games no way
Anyways now that they have the military enlistment thing all planned out, it's better to do it
No one wants to be indebted to yoon and his right wing incels
-
to add to that. they literally have coaches. review strats, training regimes. training facilities. gaming houses are now different. they are gaming buildings
-
-
While I believe BTS deserved that exemption because of their contribution to Korea, BTS decided on their own to enlist. They took it into their hands and made the choice themselves because SK government was dangling it in front of their faces for so long, it's obvious even BTS was tired of it.
We ALL know that if SK does grant BTS exemption, it would be conditional. BTS would be serving the SK government for the rest of their careers in exchange of that "exemption". We saw what they tried to do with that Scout Jamboree Fiasco a few months ago. And that's why it was epic for BTS to sing Cypher pt 3 during the Busan concert, in front of all those government officials
Once BTS finishes their military service, SK government can't order them to do anything.

not a fan of league but SKT are undeniably the most skilled esports roster of all time and faker's legacy esp is MASSIVE in esports, and will probably get bigger in the future as esports becomes the norm
unlike BTS who are far from the best at singing dancing or whatever form of entertaining, SKT actually happen to be the best at the world at something
that millions are trying to do
-
I'd be curious to hear the Korean e-sports teams' thoughts on them getting an exemption versus BTS not getting an exemption. Do they think BTS deserved an exemption as much as, more than, less than they?
We will never know the answer to this but I'm messy, so I really want someone to ask them so I can watch the ensuing chaos that any answer would probably cause. It would be really funny. To me anyway. (I'm sure the answer would be a polite non-answer but even that would be entertaining)

BTS excels in their craft too. This is why they are the number 1 global group that millions of fans adore WW.
Also, BTS had contributed heaps to the Korean economy and culture.
Please 🤐

making money is not the same as skill
at all
as such then korean athletes must be beneath bts since bts probs make more money ( with exceptions like Son )
would love to hear you tell them that
I don't care about exemption but you gotta be stupid to think any of these "entertainers" have higher status than BTS. I can tell this to their face too....

THIS right here! Exactly perfectly said. Not your country not your culture not your rules not where you live and not the gender that has to deal with it. If none of those applies your opinion does not matter .

These gamers make heaps too from my knowledge. Who are we to say that these athletes are poor?
Also, since these Korean athletes are "poorer" than BTS thus "beneath" , they deserve to get exemptions if they win? That's the vibe I'm getting from you.
And, no one is beneath anyone just because one's poor.
BTS has enhanced SK's image more than 100 times so I think they deserve it.
But it is what it is. I am but a small fan from a far away country.🤷🏻

Yup it's video games 😂 deal with it.
If you are not a Korean not a man not living in Korea it's not your culture country or home and you aren't a man. Any opinion on the matter does not matter at all.
-
-
It's videogames...
Do you know that a huge portion of Koreans still do not consider kpop as real music? You reply sounds just as ignorant as them.
And FYI, there are 36 global competitions (some of which are annual) for artists which grants military exemption while for athletes it's only Olympics and Asian games. Too bad Pop music doesn't have such a competition. So, if you want be negative, i suggest you take it out on IFPI or whoever who failed make real global Pop music competition and not try to diminish other people's success.

What about my comment triggered you? That I pointed out it was about video games? Because that was about all I said on the subject.
I don't live in an authoritarian state, so you won't silence me as you want. We might as well stop this forum or any forum at all if we follow your repressive ways. If you look again, I did not even have an opinion about South Korea's rules, so you can stop crying.
Also, funny how you say nothing about the person I replied to, probably because your opinion goes along with what they said.
Finally, if you want to follow your own rules, don't have any opinion on people who are not of your gender or not of your country ever again.

Funny how triggered some people (men?) get here. When literally all I said was that it is video games. I play video games myself and have for quite a while.
What makes it even funnier is how often men disparage women's hobbies, but if you basically say nothing more than that something is video games (which they are) some people get sooooo offended.

The fact i tried to be object while you came straight at me with words like "men", "woman", and "triggered".
Anyways, i don't wanna compare "it's just video games" to "it's just 7 dudes singing and dancing" when both these are their source of living respectively. Man, I'm too "triggered", so let me go and touch some grass. Peace.

Their comments were hilarious but dang 🤡 the amount of gaslighting and manipulation in the replies had me dying laughing. There's this absolutely wonderful lady i know who's a therapist she tells you how to spot it from a thousand kilometers away

I did not even say 'just'. I said it's video games. That was all and you went off.
And saying that 'it's just 7 dudes singing and dancing' is nothing compared to some of the things that are said, so it doesn't even phase me.
Peace.

Are you a man? Then according to your own rules, you are not allowed to have an opinion on the women in this topic or even on that female therapist.
You cannot tell people to not have opinions on groups they don't belong to and then have opinions on people of groups you don't belong to.
Your hypocrisy is showing
