It is so unfortunate that the honor of the first female act from Korea who had a concert in a Stadium went to a nonKPopper, not Twice or BlackPink

  • The first Nobel Prize for Literature was given to a dude named Sully Prudhon. What he did and what he wrote, not too many people know about.

Why this guy whose name is remembered by few now became the first laureate?

Because Lev Tolstoy , who was to be the first winner, decided not to bother to travel to Stockholm to get the award. he was 73 at that time and he was not willing to travel all the way to Sweden to accept some award given by some ammunition manufacturer.

So the First, Inaugural Nobel Prize for Literature was given to someone nobody had hard about , and from then the tradition of giving the prize to someone few people had heard about began, although there were exceptions like Winston Churchill and Bod Dylan.

    Twice stadium concerts :

    Yanmar Stadium, Osaka

    Ajinomoto Stadium, Tokyo

    Sofi Stadium, Los Angeles

    Metlife Stadium, New Jersey

    4 perfs, 2 countries

    BlackPink stadium concerts:

    Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

    Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia

Stadium, Kaohsiung, Taiwan(for whatever reason there is no big stadium near Taipei and it is the largest in Taiwan although it is near the southern end of the island)

    Stadium, Singapore

    Rachamancala, Thailand

    Stade de France, Paris

    Metlife, New Jersey

    Alligent, Las Vegas

    8 Stadiums , 7 countries.

Fake stadiums like Banc of california or baseball parks are excluded.

However, the honor of having the first stadium concert by a female in Korean history will always remain on the hands of someone who cannot even fill an arena outside of kOrEa.

    IU

    Chamshil Olympic Stadium, Seoul

    1 Stadium, 1 country.

But all of the stadium tours by Twice and BP date from 2023 and IU had her first stadium tour in 2022, giving her precedence.

In every record book of the earth, the first female singer from Korea who had a concert in a stadium will eternally be etched as "IU".

If the companies were more aggressive they would have done a concert earlier and deny the domesticist her owner.

IU had organized her first stadium concert to be held in 2020 , when she owned her own company, Since she only had to take care of herslef while running the company she owned, she was the most aggressive on jumping to the larger venues.

But it would have been infinitely more beneficial for KPop to have an internatinoally relevant act to this honor which can only be given once per each country.

  • Let IU rule Korea until the plain harmonious jane croaks. They like boring yet talented artist! The world shall boombayah to Twice and BP instead... #sickofher #overrated

  • baseball stadiums have the same capacity and you are excluding them? Lmaoooo

In most places baseball parks are not really considered to be stadiums

Also, in Japan, where baseball park concerts became more emphasized, stadium tours are held in a higher regard than even 5 dome tours.

The National Stadium is open to Japanese acts only, so the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama is considered to be the highest venue for non-Japanese acts. Only DBSK, out of all foreign acts, managed it. Among female acts, AKB, Nogizaka and Momoiro Clover managed it and all of them are multi-member acts.

AKB and Momoiro also managed the National Stadium (the old one). No female soloist.

So it was very unusual for the mayor of seoul to grant permission for a female soloist to have a concert in Korea's biggest venue, since the singer who had posted a photo with Anchovy had no selling power outside of Korea.

  • No? Twice and BP did Tokyo dome before IU

Technically IU did enter Tokyo Dome before them, although not by herself.

that aside, the signer who can't sell an arena outside of Korea still had bigger concerts in her home country so she still owns bragging rights in there.

  • Yeah she is local. We know that. Blackpink will be fine with their 300 million usd tour and global success. For that iu need to gross 75 million usd in a single tour. Can she?

BP has to share its income with the greedy Mr. Yang, who will add a gazillion lines of fees incurred, and the profit has to be shared 4 ways

Lee Jieun , who used to own her company and apparently has a deal with Kakao to claim all of her profits herself, can manage with smaller revenue since the expenses appear to be paid toward outfits owned by entities controlled by her. Also her real estate speculation is rather well known. I don't think BP members own real estate more expensive than that of the former owner of Edam.

Although it is not certain whether she will marry Lee Jongsuk, he is also an astute real estate investor, who has amassed holdings north of 30 million.

  • Let IU rule Korea until the plain harmonious jane croaks. They like boring yet talented artist! The world shall boombayah to Twice and BP instead... #sickofher #overrated

    They marketed differently

Also groups can break while soloists operate till they die, and given Lee Jieun's style it is unlikely that she will stop singing just because of changes of her family situation. In fact she will just make songs about that.
