You mean a downward trajectory right? Though I wouldn't blame Newjeans for that. Kpop hasn't been this irrelevant since 2017/2018. Kpop companies are just much better in milking existing fans these days.
The music part of Kpop has lost so much quality over the years which is down to companies investing more in their marketing budget than the music. Hybe is the biggest offender of that. -

Love the song ‘Attention’ but the title confuses me. Seeing lots of kpop fans lamenting—or celebrating—NewJeans allegedly infecting kpop with their synth-pop UK garage inspired sound, but I’m a bit perplexed where that notion is coming from. All top 4th gen groups have their individual sounds pretty distinct from NewJeans. I’ve yet to see an 4th gen bgs put out anything close to NewJeans sound and the top ggs—IVE, Aespa, StayC, Nmixx, itzy, etc.—have their own sounds.
No hate I just don’t see how NewJeans have changed kpop industry like people accuse them of.

It was an appreciation thread by a fan for their anniversary and the thread's title was just on purpose to hype them up, there's no explanation and no need to overanalyzing everything.
