Why do people think Iz*One was better than IOI?

I think it’s a potential mix of a lot of things. I.O.I did not get promoted nearly as much as IZ*One and other Produce 101 groups and there was a noticeable gap of push between Somi and Chungha and the rest of the I.O.I members. I.O.I’s short lifespan did not allow time for those to fully get to know the group as opposed to IZ*One (had to put a space to avoid the words becoming italicized). I also don’t think any of those groups have been properly managed by their respective companies (I mean, just look at the potential WJSN has had to really elevate themselves, but Starship has been giving most of their attention to IVE). I also think IVE and Le Sserafim has had the luck of debuting at the right time, with the right concepts, and the right debut songs.

Actually you're right, OP was talking about the groups themselves, i honestly just skimmed this thread and looked for the most anti-Izone replies
.As for OP's point about visuals...is he going senile? IOI literally had ONE visual, Somi. Izone clears the whole group with just Minju, she alone is prettier than all of IOI put together.
Izone's visual line was Minju, Sakura, and Hyewon. That means that literal visuals who are getting massive CF deals left and right like Yujin and Wonyoung werent even considered pretty enough to be part of the visual line!!!!! And then you have idols like Eunbi and Chaewon who also get tons of thirst posts, and Yuri who to me is the actual top visual in Izone. Imagine a group where Eunbi, Chaewon, and Yuri are considered your mid to bottom tier in visuals

, that's how stacked Izone was.Chungha alone>>

Tbh musically both of them aren't my favorites (I really don't like the music sound izone went for), but as a group and show I loved IOI and Produce 101 way more.
Also I completly understand when people say they don't like the IOI's music (I don't like Dream girls and very3), but Whatta man, Crush and When Cherry Blossoms Fade are imo superior than any Izone song.

Lol tell me you weren't around when IOI was active. Chungha did not get any extra push or whatsoever compared to other IOI members. The most popular members were Sejeong, Chaeyeon, Somi and Yoojung, and it wasn't any kind of "push", they were just naturally more popular from the show and managed to latched onto the public. Chungha got more popular after Roller Coast and Gotta Go which pushed her into the public forefront but that was well after IOI, and a lot of people didn't even know she was from a girl group (especially in the international space).
And even though IOI was only active for 8 months, they were a lot more popular than IZ*One domestically. They had shit tons of endorsements before they even debuted and Pick Me and Veryx3 were played everywhere. Chaeyeon got a drama role when IOI was still active, and Sejeong landed a regular variety show gig right out the gate.
