Interestingly I didn't know people hated it until I got on allkpop forums. Signal I always assumed got more hate, but I'll be honest the kpop fandom has enough hate for many songs.
Tbf Gee was essentially the gatekeeping(or gatepoening) song of the kpop fandom back in the day if you really think about it, as so many got into kpop due to it(like myself for example), I wouldn't be surprised if there was a backlash as the song got older.
I think that I don't like Gee because I'd aged out of that type of music long before I heard Gee. It took me until GS to explore Kpop further.
