[+1,179, -4] The concerts are too expensive for us Koreans to go, too...

[+411, -17] The foreign singers who come to Korea to perform are even more expensive than them

    [+310, -9] If it's too expensive, don't go. They'll adjust prices accordingly.

[+116, -12] With BTS, I heard that they have to transport all of their concert equipment on planes, which probably drives up expenses... I doubt it's much different for Black Pink.

[+60, -8] If they keep raising prices, people are eventually going to stop going

[+21, -0] These concerts are not a charity. If it's too expensive, you have a choice to not go. Just watch it at home on YouTube, it's not like you're going to fall ill if you don't go. These concerts are too expensive for Koreans too.

[+14, -0] The prices do seem a bit too expensive for Thailand

[+14, -2] The expenses can't be helped if K-Pop concerts want to keep up the quality of these shows. I watched a YouTube video by someone who works in the industry and they explained that they can cut costs by hiring local engineers but they won't produce the same K-Pop vibe that concertgoers are looking for so they're forced to fly out Korean engineers for all these concerts, which makes things expensive.. and it's just a cost they have to eat.

[+12, -0] These concerts are really expensive for us as it is so I can't imagine for countries like Thailand

    [+17, -6] Don't go if you're poor~ I'm poor too so I don't go either~

[+7, -2] Stage team + directing team + sound team + marketing team + security team + artist's pay... plus the added cost of flying everyone out on international business. I can see why these concerts get so expensive. K-Pop is a business, after all.. not a charity ㅎㅎ

[+4, -1] I can see the tickets being too expensive by Thai standards but you can't expect singers to match the price of their work to the wage levels of each country they're performing at ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

[+2, -0] That's why I only watch them on TV

  • Isn't Thai relatively rich country?

Based by google average salary was almost 3k $

What is a good salary in Thailand?

Thailand has a salary range of 24,500 THB (734 USD) to 433,000 THB (12984 USD) in a month. And its average monthly salary is 96,900 THB (2904 USD). The country has a median salary of 103,000 THB per month, implying that 50% of the Thai population earns more than 103,000 THB, while the other 50% earns below 103,000 THB.

Is $1,000 dollars enough to live in Thailand?

Is 1000 dollars enough to live in Thailand? Yes. It is possible to live in Thailand with $1,000 USD per month, especially outside Bangkok. However it will be pretty tight and you'll have to pay attention very often to how much you spend.

  • I think yg was really stupid to announce the Bangkok encore in may, it should have been in late july imo, its not only not an encore cause there are more concerts coming in places they haven't went yet with this tour like China, Singapore and Oceania, but also it is not part of the encore leg since they won't change the setlists unlike the US/France/Next announced encores.

The only major difference will be either Jisoo performing Flower, maybe some switch up in the setlist like Mexico got with Stay being played instead of PWF on night 1, new soundcheck songs and in the most unlikely posibility, the new ost being played. These 2 dates should have been set in july like the Stade de France date

  • "K-Pop concert is too much"... The reason Blackpink fans are angry in Thailand

While K-pop is enjoying great popularity in Thailand, the center of the Korean Wave in Southeast Asia, some fans are continuously raising complaints such as "K-pop concerts are too much" and "Does the ticket price make sense?"

According to local media MGR Online on the 3rd (local time), the average price for K-pop concert tickets sold in Thailand this year is around 5270 baht (208,000 won).

This is a 17.9% increase from 4470 baht (176,000 won) in 2019, before the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). Compared to the average price of 3,302 baht (130,000 won) in 2013, 10 years ago, it soared by 59.6%.

Even in the past, the most expensive ticket for a K-pop concert was 6,000 baht, and the cheapest ticket was around 1,050 baht. However, the media explains that fans are complaining that the price is too high now and the benefits are insignificant.

The VIP ticket price for the famous girl group BLACKPINK's concert to be held on the 27th and 28th at Rajamangala National Stadium, the largest concert hall in Thailand, became a hot topic when it was known that the price was 14,800 baht (583,000 won).

The media reported that some fans even went to Thailand Consumer Protection Agency because of the burden of the concert price.

The fan club of JYP Entertainment's boy group Stray Kids, who performed in Bangkok in February of this year, raised a problem with the Consumer Protection Agency in October of last year. At the time, the most expensive ticket for the performance was 8,500 baht (335,000 won).

According to the media, the Consumer Protection Agency called concert ticket vendors and discussed ways to protect consumers, but the government said it could not regulate prices.

The Consumer Protection Agency said, "Currently, there is no law to control the price of concert tickets," and "the price is determined by agreement between the seller and the consumer."

Regarding the reason for the rise in ticket prices, industry analysts say that 70% of the concert cost was covered by sponsors 10 years ago, but as this ratio has decreased to less than 30%, ticket prices have risen.

  • Stray kidz fans submit a fomal complaint, proceed to use BP in the title... Korean journalist never disappoint.

It is true that k-pop concert price become hot topic in Thailand but Blackpink is not on those discussion excluded as most people in Thailand comparing their price with other global artist. Also ticket price that most people talk about are not VIP packages (as those are only a few) they are talking about the price of good seats.
