not trying to invalidate your argument but about the initial charts it could be fandom driven we need to wait a least more a a few weeks to know if the song is liked by general public. I personally have no issue with their album sales.

I think its bc of the extreme-ness behind the tactic. Like with 800+ photocards/20+ versions or like with Superm's 60+ bundles....such levels haven't been done before or even close to so that is what's mind blowing

A bg is expected to have big sales ATM, so I'm not surprised

because even with the way kcharts are acting their streaming numbers worldwide are extremely small for these sales numbers. even if they're top 5 with bts and bp they're extremely far off from both bands. by the time bts was making these numbers in 2020 they were performing in stadiums in different continents. svt will probably end up having the best selling korean album in history while having little cultural impact, you can't say the same for BP or BTS. and the number of versions matters, it's a question of how much is enough for you as a group.

hell, I suspect this record will quickly be surpassed by skz or a future svt album. in a couple of years bts might be outside the top 10.

17 needs to sell around 7m copies to bring in similiar amount in revenue as 3m copies of bts proof.

Proof is at around 3.5m in circle chart, so you do the math....

In terms of profit and $$$, bts is sitting pretty at the top!

Bts brought in usd 860m in revenue for hybe with just 1 album, no tour and half the year being on hiatus...

Hybe strategy for bts now is minimum output with maximum profit...
