i'm probably the ony kpop fan that values personality a bit more than singing and dancing ability or every other metric idols get judged on

Same here mate, for me personality matters a lot more than anything else.

I almost never watch idol content outside of the music, mv and performances. So the most important for me is charisma and how their voice sounds. The only individual idols I "stan" are the ones who compose and write music as I can connect with their artistry (especially Minnie because the songs she composes are so good)

my hierarchy of idol skill/ability in order of what's personally most interesting to me probably looks like this:
variety
singing
dancing
producing/writing
acting/modeling
whatever else i miss goes at the very bottom
I don't think you're the only one. This vague thing you could call 'personality' (although we never know how real it is) is really important for many. Just being good at dancing and singing is never going to make me actually follow an idol and be a 'fan'. My priority list is probably pretty similar to yours.
So yeah, stan An Yujin

I'm like you. Talent alone rarely makes me wanna stan an individual idol.
If i look at my faves, it seems like visuals/personality/character/vocal color are the most important attributes. Singing and dancing talent is secondary. Even visuals is just unique to my tastes, the majority of my faves wouldnt be considered visuals by others.

I don't generally discover their personalities before falling in love with their music because I wouldn't see their content. Are other people watching variety and content first?
