Why did Seulgi’s solo flop?

don't know about the other songs but anywhere but home was a good one

I loved 28 reasons it was a good RnB song but yeah it is weird how the hype for her teasers and solo debut didn't translate to streams and sales... Joy on the other hand didn't have much hype, to begin with, and her debut album was a remake consisting of 6 remakes of other people's songs and it did better digitally than Wendy and Seulgi's debut.

Not a typical pop song, I think she even said in her behind the scenes this was a passion song rather then a what the gp wants (or something of that ilk)

Nah, the song was not right for her imo. She should have gone down a Boa type path. Upbeat, feel good, show off her dancing and strong vocals.

She don't make a friendly song for kids with an addictive chorus she turned to an adult audience who stream much less. And that's fine, finally something for boomers.

Kpop stans and Korea don't have taste. Her album is ahead of time. So good only for those that have fine taste.

Most people are used to the usual generic releases.

The same can be said for Red Velvet's Velvet songs like Automatic.

People are used to cheap, easy, pop everyday releases.

Fine Rnb is hard to come by in Kpop, it's still new, something to get used to unfortunately.

I honestly have never understood the hype she gets. She's just another regular Kpop idol to me, she doesn't stand out at all .

I was really anticipating her solo debut, but I could never remember the song after each listen. So maybe people had a difficult time remembering it/wanting to listen to it again?

But it's still good obviously, I should try listening to the whole album...
