They renovated a few supermarkets and drug stores acorss my country and slowly build self checkout here wich we never had before and in some years all supermarket and drugstore and maybe some more shops will have this than
I was in a newly renovated grocery store yesterday who had a self checkout and jesus I was so ...
- It takes ages to find the right fruit or bread on the screen and than having to manualy also put a number in to count how many fruit or bread you bought is also stupid, what if someone can't do maths or wants to scam the store?
- It is also quit easy to forget to pay for an item. I almost forgot to scan the earrings I wanted to buy
- They specificly asked you if you scaned cupons, customer cards, other stuff for sales etc. wich annoys me when you did not even have any of this
- Tapping like 5 times on the card-reader just so the damn mashine prints you a bill is so annoying
- It takes me 2x longer to self scan all foods than when a sales assistant would do it for me
- It sucks for people without a card (or kids who are too young to pay with a card) because these mashines do not take coins and bills
The only good things on this are
- No annoyed customer waiting behind you when you are too lazy (unless the shop is crowded and hasn't gotten enough self checkout for everyone)
- There is a field on the screen who tells you how much money you saved with all the discounts, cupons etc. that you used (example: I payed around 14,50€ and aved almost 1€ on items who were on sale)
