    shamelessly promoting ur faves :pepenomad:

but I like the song tho

  • I mean isn't that what NCT Dream been doing?

Like Beatbox leaned very heavily on 90s/00s boybands aesthetics. The concept photos literally looked like photoshoots of BSB I had on my walls back in the day.

Song Review: NCT Dream – Beatbox | The Bias List // K-Pop Reviews & Discussion

The school in the music video even had a 90s/00s American high school feel like Baby One More Time. They even had matching outfits with the white shirts/brown pants like boy bands did it back in the day.

  • I don't really know what Y2K is other than small iPhone and iPads, iPods, Windows 7, and de-advanced technology but I guess the sound would be important, it would have to not sound like a K-pop song (like NJ)

And my first thought is "Well aren't all 2000-2010 boy groups, with weirdness/cheesiness/electronic music already Y2K" but I guess that's not exactly what it means. I wasn't born yet in 2000 so my idea of nostalgia is more like 2007-2010. iPod, iPad, small iPhone, Firefox browser, Windows 7, small computers, This macbook:

old YouTube designs, old Twitter design, Club Penguin

Also for BGs vs GGs, BGs already sing a lot about life and dreams, ambitions, hip-hop topics, and not in an exaggerated "flip over the world" way. They already do a lot of simple/basic/black and white/hip hop dancing aesthetic already (I'm thinking like NCT in their practice room or Fearless). And they've already sung about cute/youthful love and school-like topics too. (ex. Seventeen, BTS). So I am not sure what would be a "Y2K" topic cause they already do 1. Simple/minimalistic 2. Being young and having young members and neither feel that unusual. Maybe tell some more narratives in their videos instead of focusing on the sets and visuals, Idk

(Btw people discussing NJ is the first time I've heard "Y2K" in my life outside of Y2K end of the world).
