Is Bighit being shady again or am I overthinking?

Oh grow up.
-
They have been making weird moves lately, their whole 'we're not dependent on BTS' charade is plain stupid, especially since BTS is still their main source of money. This company is housing the biggest boy band in the world, if I were them I'd make appreciation posts every day.
THIS!!
-
BTS is the biggest boygroup in the world, they do not need publicity for winning some award that their fans have never heard of.
TXT is not well known, they need all the publicity they can get.
Still they should congratulate both.

This. I think Big Hits should be helping all the younger group. I don’t think they are slighting BTS at all. JK’s hair has been trending on Twitter for two days. Even Tae posting pictures of his dog was all over the news

No sorry I was referencing the post above mine and failed spectacularly. I am amazed that even during this “break” how BTS can trend or be at the forefront of social media for just breathing. There were at least 6 or 7 BTS twitter topics for the awards yesterday. Everyone was talking about BTS. Maybe Hybe/BigHit just wanted to generate some noise about the other groups who were there and gave great performances.
-
It's fine if BigHit doesn't want to retweet BTS awards. I've been saying for the longest time that ARMY does a way better job at hyping and promoting the BTS brand than BigHit anyway. But what I'm not cool with is them almost never posting about their solo achievements. Maybe I'm very cynical, but a part of me believes they don't want the individuals to overtake the BTS' brand name recognition. And I will keep thinking this until proven otherwise.

We shall see soon with how they go about promoting the solo of the other members after they messed up with Hobi.

don't you think it is their job to post about all of their groups equally? They are linking news articles about their group's win and left BTS out.

I don’t believe any of the members could overtake the BTS legend that has grown into incredible heights. The Beatles lasted 7 years and had solo careers that were so much longer than their group activities but any press or media about them always referred to them as ex-Beatle. Same with Glenn Fry who was always referred to ex-Eagle. Same with Led Zeplin Robert Plante
-
If they even tried that on maknae line, then for once will this fandom be united on something and see with people like me have been saying since they went public and mutated into Hybe. Either way I'll still end up with the same emotion because;
if they do what they did to Hobi with maknae line, I'm still pissed
if they don't do what they did with Hobi with maknae line, I'm still pissed

Something is definitely going on behind the scenes. The boys have been vocal recently about how things aren't going the way they want. I hope they fight for what they want and come out winners. Big Hit can rot in hell.
Basically what I've been thinking too

I never said otherwise but they also need to flourish under their own individual identity like The Beatles too. But from the company side, I'm not seeing as much support on that end.
-
Maybe I gotten to use to them not doing it which is a disappointment. Maybe I am naive to think everything is sunshine and roses behind the scene.

Agree. I think the whole release of JITB was so badly planned and executed. The one small silver lining was the performance at LOLLAPALUZZA.
Maybe something could change for the next individual release which hopefully why it’s taking so long for the next announcement
-
-
Absolutely agree. The photo books had a nicer rollout than JITB which should have been the biggest priority. Maybe and hopefully the delay for the next member means something is being planned better
-
The staffs they had at the beginning have been promoted and allocated to other groups.

I know that lol but such a small team did so much for BTS that I'm finding it hard to believe a dedicated 100-manpower team can't do the same.

im too scared to even hold an expectation.
yea like how does birthday photo books project have better promotion and rollouts than solo debuts?

The way that the teasers have a high engagement on social media. 5m-7m likes for a photobook rollout.

that is good for the members, but this benefit should pass to their music too which was unfortunately ruined by BH and timing of when it came out.
-
Things have seemed a little off for some time now, but maybe that's to be expected. BTS are all adults now. Adults with many years of experience in the industry under their belts and despite Hybe trying to prove the opposite lately, its pretty clear who the company bread winners are. Depending on how controlling a company is, that can easily lead to friction.

that's one of the things that annoys me, the way merch and non music stuff not only are overwhelmingly there but also how it's promoted better than music related stuff. Sometimes they even release merch/dvd around the comeback announcements and it's such poorly thought of them even considering the profit they'd make of both
-
The photo books are lovely but I think someone calculated a price of $650 to $700 to get all. The price tag for the Proof Collector Edition was staggering as well. I wish there was a balance and a slow down on how much BTS merch was being released and an easing on how expensive everything is becoming
-

Tbh I don't mind that merch and non music stuff are promoted well, my problem is that such planning and efforts doesn't lean towards BTS music promotions. I wonder if two different teams handle this. The team responsible for BTS music projects should definitely learn a thing or two from their merch marketing team.
at least there is one silver lining with close releases, it helps the fans from not spending so much on the atrocious shipping prices Weverse has.

Weverse has put a curb on how many items you can buy together, it seems, so even that is messed up.
-
isn't it 4 items? i rbmr it being that for most releases. has it been reduced?
