Let's be honest, 4th gen groups can't sing

Naw. There are many 4th Gen groups that can sing just fine. You can look across each generation and find popular groups who weren’t strong vocalists. This isn’t new to this gen.

just off the top of my head:

- Weeekly

Nah they do pretty good. Put em in a studio and choose slow songs and high notes standing still and they'll do just fine. They are making dancing music with choreos integrated with rapping singing rapping etc. It's not about if they can sing and belch out high notes but the rhythm and beats of the music they be releasing along with catchy choreos.

I agree, most groups probably could or already did sing nice-sounding ballads while standing still. But rather than they can't sing well, it's more like they don't really show their nice singing much in their promoted tracks on stage, cause of short lines or using lipsync.

Edit: you said encores specifically, if you can link an encore that you are talking about that would help. A lot of the time the group doesn't focus on singing their song the encore, but if you mean like they are trying to sing but it doesn't sound good.

the same encore shows where they eat lemon, put their feet in ice buckets, put on lipsticks etc. yeah those are very serious encores for sure
