Both probably didn't fit the image Hybe was going for for Lesserafim, also when it comes to Garam i don't think Hybe knew about her past because now way they would've risked it all just for a simple trainee and if they were aware of it they probably thought that would able to control it they didn't think that her past would take such a big turnout

I think Garam was already decided before Haruka no? Plus they already had Kazuha and Sakura, both are very big stan attractors
Also, they needed the visual that would suit Koreans, and Garam was it. I mean excluding her past she was a perfect idol. She's very pretty, tall, good singer, and suited the luxury vibe.
Hanbi was in the line up for new jeans not lesserafim no? Also shes more into acting maybe she didnt want idol life

Honestly, LSRFM would have been so good with THIS lineup. We're talking instant 1M sellers and the SECOND COMING OF TWICE. Girls would be the most popular girl group ever in Japan.
Shit wouldnt be fair. The best vocalists, dancers, visuals, and stan attractors in Kpop right here.

Consider she was the center, start the song and end the song, she was their “it” girl. She embodies the concept for lessarafim. She’s pretty but “neutral” - which is what center need to be.
Considering their response, they believe Garam to be the victim, not the bully.. until the very end where it became extremely messy. Secondly there has been other groups where there was rumors/scandal prior to debut yet the person flourish and rumors were squashed. Most recent I can think of was karina from arepa and Jennie from blackpink - both end up being such it girl and has great star factor.
Hybe probably thought Garam case would be the same. They never anticipate the backlash that happened or how hard Garam accuser went for her unlike previous cases mentioned. They got cocky and frankly - negligent, didn’t take it too seriously.
