Why are people downplaying Blackpink again?

people care too much about numbers that they now track groups they don't stan

don't engaged, blackpink's success speaks loud and clear... it's hard after 6 years to keep momentum like they do, effortlessly... even on youtube they've grown 3 million subscribers (probably more, I am not counting, before this era [PINK VENOM] they had 72/73, can't recall) and people are saying they're flops in YT, you can't take them seriously

Are you new here. Every group gets multiple threads that they are flopping or declining with each comeback even if it’s total lies. With BTS YTC/Proof, there were at least several pages celebrating their downfall. It happens to most groups every comeback

They did grow though?

And they do this without collabs. And only 6 new songs

The fact that BP made those numbers without a Cardi B or Selena Gomez collab and yes, still surpassed TA is amazing! This really shows their growth, their own growth!!

Honestly some people talking about top groups saying it's going to be their downfall bla bla bla are so hilarious. Like who cares? They still making tons of money even if they "flop". In the end those people are the ones looking really stupid.

Them dragging blackpink is an automatic drag to their fave so let them. Won't change that born pink is the most successful album this year

Just get used to it because that's how they cope with their faves not getting the same level of achievements. Some are even salty because BP is getting high-quality MVs with no greenscreen

Shade is pretty much part of kpop. No one can escape it but can learn to ignore it. Or join sometimes when it's their turn.

Despite the fact that BP didn't grow as much as one would expect seeing what the fans had said or set as goals, their numbers are impressive indeed for a kpop group.

I think this time their asian streams somewhat less than the album but outside Asia they grown a lot this time maybe the reason the album had 3 singles and collabs too. Also the anticipation for the album is bigger than born pink

I didn't know that. Asia is their strongest market. Did anything happen? Was that the reason why the yt number wasn't that good this time, compared to the last album tt?

You have a point about the college. Having a big name can in a song can help with the streams. Although I don't know how much Cardi B helped, tbh. Selena definitely did.

I still don't understand the BP shade on Spotify? I'm no expert on Spotify, YT or Billboard but these numbers look pretty damn good for a GG supported only by SEA streaming farms lol.

Maybe the hiatus actually did hurt BP in terms of potential growth. Also the album could be way different than what many might have expected. At least half of it is retro/rock stuff, mid and slow tempo songs.

The Album had more bops even though it had bigger lows than born pink.

Also adding rfl was a waste agreed. Who adds a 2 year old leak demo to a new album? This demo was being rearranged by random fans.

If it was mainly the hiatus then PV wouldn't do x2 hylt numbers on Spotify (hylt debuted with 4M & PV with 7.9M, first week was 28M while PV first week was 53M)
