I don't know why I'm stating the obvious, but it is obviously to increase the profit margin. Less materials for CDs/photobook/whatever other nonsense = less cost

They are just reducing costs, and then providing more photocards to increase revenue.

If they really wanted to "protect the environment", it would be to reduce bulk buying by not having multiple photocards that are rng based and give all the albums ALL THE PHOTOCARDS but that obviously won't bring them money wont it?
