Is it a way for the underperforming BG Stan’s to cope
Why do people say GGs have better title tracks and BGs have better B Sides?

In 4th gen girl groups have better music overall than boygroups I only like a very small selection of 4th gen bg while gg there’s a lot where I like their music
-
Boygroups title tracks are underwhelming
Girlgroups side tracks are rarely worth listening
Overall I think this holds true. We can see how Boygroups side tracks have an overall much better performance on streaming services. I'm excluding Blackpink and BTS from my analysis because they are clear outliers:
Darari, Polaroid Love, Anti Romantic, The eve, Highway to Heaven... all seems to have better streams than any Girlgroup b-side
When kpop was popular in Korea it was true that even Boygroups with small fandoms (BtoB, iKon, Winner, Block B) had much better chart performance with side tracks than Girlgroups with bigger fandoms like Twice

tbh I think there's some truth to it, I feel the same way. Maybe not always that bgs have better bsides than ggs, but that bgs have better bsides than their own title tracks
The following boy groups are ones I've listened to at least a decent amount of music of and prefer the bsides to tts: Seventeen, Exo, BTS, NCT, SHINee, g.o.d, TXT, and some more I'm less familiar with but won't name due to lack of info
For girl groups: S.E.S, SNSD, Red Velvet, maybe Twice? (I'd score their tts and bsides pretty much equal tbh)
Off topic but I noticed I prefer SM group's bsides to their tts -

It’s actually quite common.

I guess it's got to do with numbers? Bgs do get better responses on bsides than ggs do be it in Korea or international. Gg titles do way better than bg titles. But again that doesn't always mean better quality on either sides?

Blackpink can't relate, also red velvet. Twice last few albums were also very good. 2ne1 had very cool bsides too

There are a lot of gg with good b sides as well.
-
Such generalisation. I could name at least 10 GGs with good bsides
- 2ne1
- gidle
- ITZY
- AOA
- SNSD
- Fx
- aespa
The generalisation comes from the fact GPs only pay attention to GG title track (actually they would, cause they're Gp not fans/stans). While for BGs, their main streamers are fans/stans that listen to most of their discography. There are exceptions to certain GGs though like blackpink, 2ne1

Thinking about it, there is that generalisation about bg music (particularly titles for 4th gen) are too dark and noisy. So that turns people off from them since they aren't easy to listen to and don't have a more general appeal.
Meanwhile with b-sides, it can be easier to find more lowkey, easy to listen tunes (such as Darari and Polaroid Love recently). Since that kind of music has a wider appeal, that means in a general sense people would prefer their b-sides.
Now though, in regards to whether bg b-sides are better than gg b-sides... that's another topic altogether. I suppose since people are just casual listeners for gg and not fans, they wouldn't take the time to listen to the b-sides. And maybe most gg titles are just more likely to hold your attention than their b-sides (with exceptions).
So I think I can get why b-sides for bg are more appealing than their titles and vice versa for gg, but I don't necessarily think the idea that b-sides for bg are better than gg b-sides holds water because of the different appeals for both types of groups. I mean, there are some quality gg b-sides out there that people would like if they gave them the chance.

have a dedicated fandom unlike BG,
It's 2022, time to stop repeating this like if it was 2012. Frankly, with girlgroups selling half million can anyone truly believe this?
Regardless Boygroups b-sides often outperform their own title tracks (Polaroid Love, The eve, Darari comes to mind), how could do this be even remotely related with fandom side? It's clearly that people often listen BG b-sides and find it good enough to keep listening, it's that simple. If you like Girlgroups b-sides it's great, really, but saying Boygroups b-side numbers being higher than Girlgroups due to fandoms is beyond delusional

My Bag? Dolphin? Pretty Savage? Forever young?
I said to exclude Blackpink because they are far too much bigger than any girlgroup just like BTS
Regarding OMG and G Idle, I think none of those have more Spotify streams than the BG songs I listed
If we are talking about Korean charting, then I agree but IMO this is because BG charting has been dreadful in Korea for quite a while
