This xenophobia is sadly never ending, I remember all the times exo's sales were discredited and kpop fans were mocking them for having chinese sales but guess what even their faves do have them but they be like:

China is not even fully socialist anymore . They have a very specific economic experience that I don't think any other country ever had. It's mostly socialist in rural areas, while being fiercely capitalist in some urban areas, although not exactly free in the sense of classic capitalists used to believe to be the most productive way to create wealth

Traditionally, Japan is known for bulk buying and it is easier for them to do so because of stores actually have stock of kpop albums unlike china.
Chinese fans are fans like any other. I think kpop fans like to discredit them because they mass buying and have their own way of seeing and consuming kpop. Anyway it's stupid they also have the right to buy albums, they do nothing wrong. Companies should thank these dedicated fans in China and SEA rather than marginalize them as they are doing now.

Chinese fans have an important influence and allow the massive success of many groups for sure, but it's not at all a country for the future of kpop because of the political context between south korea and china. If the tension continues to grow, some groups and society could even pay a high price for having such close ties with China.
But we obviously hope that the tensions do not increase, it would be disastrous and not only for kpop.

Pick your poison. Kpop fandoms are very permissive of it where-ever possible. It's especially flagrant because all kpop fandoms(regardless of nation of origin) participate in the same practices.

Still kpop fans are weird and if a group doesn't have much Chinese fans they drag them for being nugu in China. Then they get Chinese sales and still get dragged for that, they just can't pick a side

Buying albums means also having photocards etc and kpop fans care a lot about this.
I am sure many other kpop groups get a good amount of Chinese digital sales but not at the level of big groups
