This xenophobia is sadly never ending, I remember all the times exo's sales were discredited and kpop fans were mocking them for having chinese sales but guess what even their faves do have them but they be like:

China is not even fully socialist anymore . They have a very specific economic experience that I don't think any other country ever had. It's mostly socialist in rural areas, while being fiercely capitalist in some urban areas, although not exactly free in the sense of classic capitalists used to believe to be the most productive way to create wealth

Traditionally, Japan is known for bulk buying and it is easier for them to do so because of stores actually have stock of kpop albums unlike china.

If the tension continues to grow, some groups and society could even pay a high price for having such close ties with China.
But we obviously hope that the tensions do not increase, it would be disastrous and not only for kpop.

Idk about discrediting but for me is odd enough to be a 800k - 1million seller, but have 0 albums over 500m in spotify, like how are you stucking in the 200m-400m streams per album yet selling 800k-1m.

they can also buy chinese digitals, and as far as I know the artists that can actually get good digitals in china are a few ones only, BP, BTS, BB, Rosé

Buying albums means also having photocards etc and kpop fans care a lot about this.
I am sure many other kpop groups get a good amount of Chinese digital sales but not at the level of big groups

It's just kpop fans discrediting chinese sales as companies are happy with them and in the past when tours were available, groups used to go there for fansigns and concerts. For sure they don't discredit chinese sales, without them many groups as I said, won't sell millions
