    snsd and bp took their time to become physical monsters, they were doing great ofc but it wasn't until the boys (4 years after debut) when snsd surpassed boygroups and until the album (4 years after debut too) when bp managed to become the 1st gg million seller only after bts, exo, seventeen and nct. in comparison aespa isn't even two years old so they are indeed faster

    I don’t think you understood what I’m saying back then not every group was selling what SNSD was selling either. It still Stands that.


    BTS, BP, EXO, NCT, Seventeen, SKZ, En-, TXT, that’s EIGHT groups (9 if you count Bakehyun by himself) who can sell a million in one year. By the end of the year that number might become 10.


    10 groups were not selling what SNSD was selling.


    Hell not even in 2018 or 19 that many groups were selling that much. Lol.


    Those are just the facts. 1 million is now the expected value. Aespa is still very impressive. But you mentioned never seeing a girl group and I merely mentioned the goal posts have moved.


    Even when they sell a million albums there are 8 or 9 acts ahead of them.


    With Gee SNSD was the second best selling album of the year. (Released around the same time as Aespa is now more or less)

    I don't know why some people think saying a group is hated is wanting to play victim or seeking attention, like I know Mys would rather aespa be ignored and don't be talked about than them getting all these nasty attacks but it's what it's, we can't deny the hate train they have suffered since debut till now, with people on this forum being one of the worst offenders (can't forget the "SM mediaplay" accusations when the girls where harassed on a school)

    Karina was accused of magically badmouthing 3 members from the 3 top boy groups before we even got the first teaser.

    The girls were likened to prostitues as soon as their concept was announced.

    People made up rumours about SM opening a hotel business for the avatars to provide sexual services to fans (just imagine how fucking vile and stupid people can be to believe this)

    And most importantly the group was accused of supporting the uyghur genocide.

    All of these were lies and rumours that kpop fans believed at face value and weaponised them against the girls. People literally didn't shut up about the sex services shit until SM had explicitly threatened legal action. But, hey it's all in our heads.
