I've mentioned this before on that other forum back in the day, but I've always thought a good way I would promote my faves (had I been their company) is to get them a sitcom on Disney.
And before you say "Disney is childish" or whatever, I will remind you that some of the biggest stars in the West got their start on Disney (or other children's television).
Ariana Grande (Victorious)
Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place)
Zendaya (shake it up)
Miley Cyrus (Hanna Montana)
Brittany Spears (All That).
Olivia Rodrigo (High School Musical the Musical).
And the list goes on.
Honestly, im more shocked a company in korea hasn't already attempted it instead of sitting around hoping their idols gets cast in a hit drama. The fact that the West still continues with this method till this day just show it's a proven method.
If a company pulled together a good writing and production team and pitched a show to Disney so they add it to Disney plus it could surpass whatever sorry attempts of a push some of these companies try when it comes to breaking into the U.S Market.
Plus we know that Disney already attempted to make a Kpop sitcom (Make it Pop) except none of the people in that show were actually real Kpop idols and didn't have any of the appeal that real Kpop idols have.
I coule totally see IVE having a sitcom like Hanna Montana or something. Maybe make it about a Chaebol heir who gets shipped off overseas to work on their schooling and ends up forming a Kpop group with a bunch of other misfits?
