RE : Bts/BP/Twice’s members Instagram follower rankings. Any surprises?

I was surprised in a few ways, but didn't want to post it in Anon's so here's my chance:
1) Twice's followers are much closer in number than I ever expected. Several of them have the same amount and the difference between Sana's and Jeongyeon's (for example) was not as big as I expected it to be. Also, go Sana, get that number one spot!
2) Not really for BTS. I feel bad for RM and Suga getting the least, but stuff like that happens.
3) No surprises for me here either. Our top models have a bunch of akgaes in the fandom, so it would have been more surprising if there wasn't a huge difference. It almost shook me that they have more followers than BTS (not a competition, just an observation), but then I remember that there's fewer member to follow in the first place, plus, they are mostly models and post a lot of model-like pictures, which is what Instagram revolves around, so it makes sense. Besides, they've had those accounts for much longer. Who knows? Maybe other K-Pop idol accounts will surpass them when other idols have their accounts for as long as they have. Only time will tell.

I’m surprised that people look at followers and not engagements. Look at the likes and see which accounts have the most likes and compared to their followers. That’s gonna be surprising too lol

I was surprised in Twice case as I thought Nayeon would be first in terms of followers. However, all the members have around the same followers numbers.
I would not comment on BTS as I don't follow the group.
Concerning Blackpink I'm not surprised. Too much akgae in the fandom. You have a good example in the blink chatroom.

So armys are big ot7 then. Just roughly using RM’s insta followers as the baseline and their 1st month followers numbers, the gap between the 1st and last member still doesn’t exceed 10M.

yeah, it really seems so.
all the members' followers are increasing quickly, have surpassed 34million in less than 5 months & all the members have (at least) 8-10million likes average on their pics. sure the gap will probably increase, but it's clear army are OT7's. very happy about that.

The engagements are good but trick, everything that is new is bound to have more engagements and "excitement" aaaaand BP lack of cb or things related to music sure doesn't help their engagement.
But anyways, in the beginning insta wasn't relevant but now here we are!!

jin - 35.1m
suga - 34.5m
jhope - 35.2m
jimin - 35.6m
v - 42.7m
jk - 40.2m
armys expected v to be the most followed, his concept photos have always had to most likes.
next is jk, again, expected.
as for the rest. suga, who you mentioned, has only 1.1m less followers than 3rd most followed member, jimin. and rm, whom you also mentioned, has 1.5m less followers than jimin. that's nothing.
again, why would you feel sad
in fact, it's the opposite, we should be happy, it shows that most of insta followers are armys (ot7 fans).

Now that you used math, yes, i can see that the difference is a lot smaller but should i be considered dumb for just noticing it just after you pointed it out?

Me!! I always thought for sure that Jungkook would be the most popular.
But doesitneedsaying there was a time that Jungkook was the first by a larger margin than now right? If I'm not mistaken, he was the most popular 2014~2016, no?

i wasn't a fan back then, you should ask someone else
but i know that back then jhope was undoubtedly the least popular member. thank god for them going worldwide, a lot has changed since then. as you can see he's 4th most followed member on insta. his profile is insa heaven. suga even asked him if someone else run his profile it's clear he's used insta for years, he knows how everything works and is really active.as for some stats:
jk was the most searched member on google in 2019 and 2020, and v was in 2021
