i wasn't a fan back then, you should ask someone else
but i know that back then jhope was undoubtedly the least popular member. thank god for them going worldwide, a lot has changed since then. as you can see he's 4th most followed member on insta. his profile is insa heaven. suga even asked him if someone else run his profile it's clear he's used insta for years, he knows how everything works and is really active.as for some stats:
jk was the most searched member on google in 2019 and 2020, and v was in 2021

I’m surprised that people look at followers and not engagements. Look at the likes and see which accounts have the most likes and compared to their followers. That’s gonna be surprising too lol
exactly. look at kylie jenner's follower count and her likes. and look at bts who has 10 times less followers than her. her latest post posted 3 days ago has 7m likes and she has 341m followers. suga is the least followed member with enabled likes (rm disabled his) and his last post posted 2 days ago has 8.5m. their engagement is insane.
if they promoted brands they endorse they'd be earning millions just on insta

maknae line have always been the most popular, there was never a large gap, so no, no time of JK miles ahead or V miles ahead. They were always the top 2 worldwide, with Jimin next in line and leading in Korea.
I'm only surprised Jimin is closer to the hyung line in followers than he is to Vkook, but he has a super dedicated fanbase too.

is not a given more recently created accounts will have a higher % of active people? you should see the engagement people like ariana or selena get while having over 300m followers 💀
It was before sd, I remember jisoo got more during hylt/the album era then rose briefly surpassed her around her solo. They almost always remain similar popularity, I think that's a good thing
