I just lurk over there but kpopthoughts sub (mostly bg posts focused) was mostly positive posts until kpoprants quit. Unpopularopinion sub is to throw any opinion even if it doesn't make any sense kinda like anon section. The good thing about reddit is you have to pretend to be civil even if you're one of those who drag the hell of a group or idol on twitter later.
Hybe are the first ones to associate their subsidiaries groups to hybe label because it benefits them, cj or kakao are too big so they don't care about it too much. Hybe should distance themselves if they want their other labels to get the credit for those groups.
Hybe also operates as music label and they are more involved than financially with some of those groups, those groups are introduced as some type of collab between hybe x [insert label]
I always thought Sistar was one of those groups. I think they built a friendship towards the end, but they always seemed more like co-workers. The only 2 who seemed like friends were Bora and Hyolyn.
Blackswan is a current group who clearly don't all get a long and that was before the whole bullying between members controversy.
I don't think they were best friends or friends of the type to hang out regularly after their disbandment but they weren't only simple coworkers either. They still hang out from time to time and they are supportive with each other, when Hyolyn held their first solo concert, they attended. I'd say their bond is stronger than many groups.

One of reasons why so many girl groups don't continue after the first contract is because some members or whole group decide to not renew and it's not because the group is declining but because they want to move on with their lifes. Only 3rd gen big3 groups + omg/mmm are standing and you will see how they will also start focusing on their individual careers with less group comebacks, some members of those groups will leave if it's not after the first contract, it will be after their second contract.
They are new groups and people tend to stan new groups and not old ones. The reason why twice increased sales was because they gained more international popularity, they are still expanding in other markets and that's not happening with red velvet. Also the recent growth of international fans is already benefiting both groups as you can see on their last comebacks otherwise they would have already mostly peaked
Do they need to?? Not every group is meant to be the top group and that's okay
I Imagine it could depend on fans too, from what I understand chinese fans tend to be more solo stans so some fans would prefer to only spend money on solo proyects and solo products to group stuff
Chaewon fanbase sells better than wonyoung in Izone yet people always overlook her popularity. And both of them the most popular member in Japan and Sakura has China while Chaewon has Korea. Heo Yunjin is popular trainees too and already secure fanbase on her own. Not to mention they are from Hybe too like even Fromis sales increase 50% after the acquisition. Tbh, they might sells better than I've and challenge Aespa.

True music show group fancams work. But there are often cameramen running around on stage blocking the idols. And studio choom fancams are often cut, showing different takes, so sometimes even fancams doesn't show an un-edited version.
True, there are some moments where cameramen block the view, though it's not for too long.
I can't speak for other groups but s.korea started to lift covid restrictions late last year so aespa perfomed a few times in front of people so there are some non official fancams. I imagine it's the same for many other groups.
Like I said, if you want to know how good or bad certain group perfomances are you need to go to their concerts.
Fancams only show a tiny part of the stage at the same time. It's not the same thing
Group fancams from music shows show all the whole stage and same as fan made fancams. There's no way to truly know how a group perfom without going to their concerts in person, fancams are the closest to that experience.
I have been in the scene since I was on my junior high. I witness elfs vs vips, sones vs blackjacks, tara bullying case, deaths in kpop , etc. Same sh*t actually was fought back then. for example YG fans kept saying SM idols always lip sync, SM stans said YG idols cant sing and dance well. Or YG fans always love to call SM idols plastic (while they had park bom, or even g dragon's chin , for a start), and SM stans love to call YG idols untalented, and so on, and so fort.

Then you must be trolling because dancing was never taken this seriously on previous gens like 4th one. Other users are right, it was easier to find live singing perfomances on previous gens than right now.
I don't know if you are new fan or not but this (the focus on dancing) is just a thing on 4th gen. Kpop is singing + dancing of course but dancing was something secondary for previous gens. Choreos used to be simpler and they were more used as aesthetic or something fun, it's now when the shift happened and dancing became something more priority than singing.
Just go to watch fancams, no camerawork there
Kpop fans tend to be too obsessed with competitiveness but they forget that kpop is about music at the end of the day. Not matter if there are other groups doing better than a group as long as that group is doing good fans should be happy about it. Kpop fans mentality is you are on the top or you are wortheless but that's not what music is about.
It's okay to be only popular in korea or asia, nothing wrong with that tho kpop fans use it as a drag since they are so fixed on international success. I know most of idols would want to be popular in their home countries.
The good about stayc is they have showed some consistency so far, they just need a little push. A big hit would help them to solidify their position, at least in korea.
4th gen is more saturated than 3rd gen or at least right now. Before you could call mmm or gfriend top groups without great sales compared to big3 groups because they were charting really well and they were really popular in korea, is stayc at that point?

Note: i think some of those groups will be left a bit behind, it's gonna be hard for 9 groups keep up with each other in the long run
I doubt it, 700-750k seem pausible to me. They would need another hit song/viral moment or blow up in other countries if they want to see a huge increase between comebacks. Also sm doesn't restock group albums that much so they can't reach 1M over time.
People like to write history themselves and deny big4 privilege, simply sales weren't as high back then as now.
